It had taken her marriage for Ami to realize how privileged her birth really had been. Back then, money had never been important because money was easy. The Mizuno daughters had the best of anything they could want, right within their reach. There had been no doors of education or career closed to her. Now, she knows the world doesn't work that way for everyone. Some people reach out their hands and there's nothing to put into them.

Especially with taxes eating the income of most of the town right now. She's let Luke educate her about the situation, and she's come to take on many of his views: in short, it has to change. The people need better.

Right now, though, it's a night for a walk, for enjoying the animal exhibits, and for some company.
