What: A wedding and reception
When: Sept 14, All Day
Where: Cherry Blossom Hill / The Battle Dome
Summary: Pepper and Tony are getting married finally officially finally.
Rating: PG/PG-13 max? There's at least one kid here.
The decorations on the hill are simple ones; they've chosen this spot because it's naturally beautiful without the need for embellishments. Chairs have been set up for the expected guests, with a clear path laid out for the wedding party. And of course up front there is a place for those people to stand, in sight of everyone gathered so Tony won't be able to tell Pepper "I told you so" as color commentary won't be necessary.

After the ceremony everyone will be invited to go to the Battle Dome for the reception. There Tony's programmed an expansive hall with tables and seating enough for everyone. There's also a dance floor, which everyone is encouraged to take advantage of. The atmosphere is warm and vibrant, clearly intended to help all in attendance have a good time. Dinner will be served, and there's an open bar, with rum by request of the officiant.

Just don't get too rowdy, okay kids?

"I can't say I'd ever expect this of you back home." Beat. "Congrats."

Hey, that sounded a whole lot better than stating how insanely weird this whole thing was, right? Or mentioning anything she shouldn't, like Pepper's marriage and subsequent divorce from Happy Hogan in their universe. But messing with alternate universes might just be a lot like messing with timelines, and she knew without a doubt just how much of a no the latter is.

Kate smiled at him and added in, more sincerely, "Hey, thanks for inviting Cassie. This means a lot to her, you know."

Tony almost bothered to start listing off the apparently differences between himself and her universe's Tony, but then again, it wasn't something he really wanted to get into at the moment. This was the decision he had made, and he couldn't be happier that Pepper had done the crazy thing and agreed to marry him.

"I don't think many expected this of me here, but I like keeping people on there toes." His tone turned a touch more sincere then, too. "I figured she probably needed to be here. For - you know. Various reasons."

The comment made her chuckle. The Tony here might be different from the Tony she had interacted with back home, but the differences probably could easily be dwarfed by similarities in personality.

"She practically grew up in the Avengers Mansion. You guys are all family to her." Just in case he hadn't already figured it out. "She's been through a lot lately. And not just in arriving here."

[alloys]

"...Yeah, I kind of figured that." Finding her crying in the woods was a pretty extreme reaction. "But who doesn't love a party? I'm sure her spirits will be high in the sky in no time. I tend to have that effect on people."

[tryit]

Eyebrows raise. She never had the same ties to the Avengers that the rest of her team did. Outside of any overlapping social events or superhero-esque conflicts, she hadn't had much interaction with Tony Stark. Clint hadn't exactly gotten around to inviting her to any Avenger gatherings yet.

Pardon her for looking a bit doubtful.

He lifted his own eyebrow in turn. "What? Don't look so surprised. I know you haven't been here long, but shindigs like this don't come along in Luceti very often."

[tryit]

Kate waves a hand in a lazy circle. "It's not the shindig I'm referring to."

[alloys]

"Then what are you referring to, Hawkeye Jr? You wouldn't mock a groom on his wedding day, would you?"

[tryit]

She probably would. It's not like there's anything all that special in most marriages. Most of the wedding ceremonies she's attended over the years have ended in divorce. Sometimes, there are exceptions. She'd claim Teddy and Billy as one - if they ever decide to tie the knot. But she doesn't know this Tony Stark and this Pepper Potts well enough to make any kind of judgement call.

"Maybe." A shrug. "And only my friends get to call me Hawkeye when we're not in the field."

[alloys]

"I didn't call you Hawkeye," he clarified. "I called you Hawkeye Junior. And anyway - once again, it's my special day. I get to make up the rules."

At least, the ones that Pepper didn't already make up to reign him in.

[tryit]

Cue one roll of the eyes. Don't make her sic the bride on you, Tony.

"I was pretending not to hear that Junior bit."

[alloys]

"Why not? It's endearing." And demeaning, but that was beside the point.

[tryit]

Brows knit together skeptically. "It's demeaning."

And she's worked way too hard at this superhero gig to be so easily demeaned.

[alloys]

He shrugged. "I don't see what the problem is."

[tryit]

"I know you're not really that dumb."

But he's sure fooling her right about now.

[alloys]

"You know, endearing and demeaning are often the same thing, as far as I'm concerned."

[tryit]

"Kind of like delusional and Iron Man?"

[alloys]

"Don't make me uninvite you. I have a bouncer, and I'm not afraid to use her."

[tryit]

"You wouldn't."

[alloys]

"My wedding."

[tryit]

....point.

Damn.

She holds up her hands in defeat. "Okay, you win. On that fact only."

"I take what I can get. And then some, but lucky for you, I'm feeling generous today, too."
