What: A wedding and reception

Where: Cherry Blossom Hill / The Battle Dome
Summary: Pepper and Tony are getting married finally officially finally.
Rating: PG/PG-13 max? There's at least one kid here.
The decorations on the hill are simple ones; they've chosen this spot because it's naturally beautiful without the need for embellishments. Chairs have been set up for the expected guests, with a clear path laid out for the wedding party. And of course up front there is a place for those people to stand, in sight of everyone gathered so Tony won't be able to tell Pepper "I told you so" as color commentary won't be necessary.

After the ceremony everyone will be invited to go to the Battle Dome for the reception. There Tony's programmed an expansive hall with tables and seating enough for everyone. There's also a dance floor, which everyone is encouraged to take advantage of. The atmosphere is warm and vibrant, clearly intended to help all in attendance have a good time. Dinner will be served, and there's an open bar, with rum by request of the officiant.

Just don't get too rowdy, okay kids?

Uh, bride, I guess. I'm kind of more here with the DJ though. Well, not here with him 'cause his boyfriend would object but...

So, would your boyfriend mind if I stole you away for a dance?

[Way to be presumptive, Kate.]

[Of course he's taking a drink when she asks that, and he splutters a little on it before squinting up at her.]

What? I don't- I'm not gay.

[tryit]

[She does her best not to chuckle but a few giggles slip through.]

Good to know.

[voiceinthedark]

[He scowls a little, before it melts away into a wry smile.]

And I'd like to. Dance, I mean. If me not being gay isn't a problem that is.

[tryit]

[There. That smile looks so much better than a scowl. Holding out her hand,]

So not a problem.

[voiceinthedark]

[He pushes himself to his feet and takes her offered hand.]

Good to know. I'm Sam by the way. Sam Yao.

[tryit]

Kate Bishop. [She shakes his hand firmly before pulling in the direction of the dance floor.] So, may I have this dance, Sam?

I'm not sure I get a choice in the matter right now.

[He laughs softly, and lets her pull him out onto the dance floor.]

[tryit]

Probably not. [Said with some soft laughter of her own.] I'm usually good at getting my way.

[voiceinthedark]

That's not necessarily a bad thing though.

[tryit]

Definitely not. [She's lost count of the number of times in the past that skill's come in handy.

She grins knowingly as they reach the dance floor, letting go of his hand once there. The song playing is a quick one, something upbeat and easy to move to. Kate wastes no time joining in to the dance. But that doesn't mean the conversation has to end.] What part of Britain are you from?

[His dancing is... not the best. Janine would have probably had something scathing to say about it but well, it's a party. Can't not dance at a party.}

The north. Well, north of London anyway, more midlands, I guess. How about you?

[tryit]

[She's not complaining. She's been wanting to dance and just forget about that stupid experiment and subsequent kidnapping since her return. The lack of any club in Luceti's kept her from that. Until now.]

Me? I'm from New York. Born and raised.

[voiceinthedark]

Ah, New York! I've never been but... is it as cool as all the movies say it is?

[tryit]

Cooler. You should visit sometime. [Well...] If we ever get out of here.

[voiceinthedark]

Maybe. I mean, who knows where I'll end up after this? Maybe someone else's world.

[Because New York is not going to happen. He wouldn't want to visit now even if he could.]

[tryit]

[That's not something she ever considered. She always figured that once they finally figured a way out of this place, she and her friends would wind back up in New York. Their New York. With superheroing in secret from her friends alongside Clint Barton the idiot. Mooching money off her father as she figured out what to do with her life - aside from being a hero.

She never considered winding up in another universe.]

Is that even possible?

[voiceinthedark]

[Sam shrugs, smiling slightly.]

No idea. I don't even know how it works. I mean, I'd be happy here if I could get them to bring the rest of Abel here too.

[tryit]

[She slows down in dancing, blinking a little in confusion.]

Did you just say that you'd bring your friends to a prison world?

[voiceinthedark]

[It's difficult to remember sometimes that most people don't want to be here.]

Yeah. If I could. Seems unfair that I get to be here and they're not.

[tryit]

Okay, the only way that can be remotely P.C. is if you live in the apocalypse or something.

[Just sayin']

[He smiles a little and shrugs.]

Oh. [She winces and then attempts a smile. Way to go, Bishop.] Sorry.

...I'm kind of good at putting my foot in my mouth sometimes.

It's fine. Not like you knew. I'm not brilliant with not doing that myself.
