Who: Pepper Potts, Tony Stark, and everyone who has gathered there today.
What: A wedding and reception
When: Sept 14, All Day
Where: Cherry Blossom Hill / The Battle Dome
Summary: Pepper and Tony are getting married finally officially finally.
Rating: PG/PG-13 max? There's at least one kid here.
The decorations on the hill are simple ones; they've chosen this spot because it's naturally beautiful without the need for embellishments. Chairs have been set up for the expected guests, with a clear path laid out for the wedding party. And of course up front there is a place for those people to stand, in sight of everyone gathered so Tony won't be able to tell Pepper "I told you so" as color commentary won't be necessary.

After the ceremony everyone will be invited to go to the Battle Dome for the reception. There Tony's programmed an expansive hall with tables and seating enough for everyone. There's also a dance floor, which everyone is encouraged to take advantage of. The atmosphere is warm and vibrant, clearly intended to help all in attendance have a good time. Dinner will be served, and there's an open bar, with rum by request of the officiant.

Just don't get too rowdy, okay kids?

[breezing]

Ikki will locate Pepper on her own at least once - and she approaches from behind, throwing her arms around Pepper's waist. She's at a good height to do that. "Pepper! Your dress is really, really, super pretty! I know I said that already but it's still really true. Is that a magic star potion?"

...She...means the celebratory drink...

[handing]

Pepper is a little surprised to suddenly have arms around her, but thankfully she's able to steady herself enough to avoid falls and spills. The voice is unmistakable, and Pepper smiles as she hears Ikki's chatter.

"Thank you. And you look beautiful in your dress too." Which Pepper can only hope is holding up well with how she assumes Ikki has been running around. But the question of a potion leaves her wondering, and Pepper turns to try and look down at the girl.

"Potion? I'm not sure what you mean."

[breezing]

"Your drink! Is it the potion only true lovers can drink??" She is apparently saying this with all seriousness. Her canon ideas about love are fairly questionable, still...

[handing]

Oh. Pepper takes a look at the glass in her hand, fighting off a grin as she tries to explain. “Not exactly. But it is a special drink that grown-ups have when they want to celebrate something really special.”

Grown-ups apparently including the teenagers present at the reception.

[breezing]

"Is it magic?" This is the important part. "Because I'm not allowed to drink it!"

[handing]

"Some people might say it is." Wow. How does someone even explain alcohol to an eight year old? "But a lot of people don't like how it tastes. So don't think you have to drink it, okay?"

[breezing]

"Guess WHAT?" ...Topic change time, apparently.

[handing]

Pepper is glad to go down this new road, smiling in relief as Ikki presumably abandons her prior line of questioning.

“What?”

[breezing]

"Tony says that business ladies are better than princesses!"

She was never sworn to secrecy there, okay.

[handing]

"Oh, does he?" Pepper laughs at the random statement, and the sentiment behind it. She steals a glance at her now husband before addressing the girl once more.

"And I'm guessing he's also told you that I'm a businesswoman?"

[breezing]

"Yeah, I said that princesses were best and he argued and we argued for a bit and then I said he only said that because you weren't a princess and he was saying business ladies were best because you're one and he said that was right and then he told me he could buy you a castle in the sky but he wasn't gonna."

[handing]

Pepper probably could only follow that due to years of listening to Tony's rambling.

"I see." Well. She'd have to make sure to show her appreciation for his point of view later. Although she was a little curious about the end of Ikki's spiel. "So why won't he buy me a castle in the sky?"

[breezing]

"'Cause he doesn't want to buy one. And then we argued about true love." Because Ikki's version involves magic potions and Tony's doesn't.

[handing]

“He doesn’t, huh?” Pepper can’t blame him; their flagship skyscraper hadn’t met the best fate. And considering that they both now had fears of falling…

“True love is a pretty deep topic to argue about. What did you two disagree on?”

[breezing]

"He said you don't need magic star potions." She sounds very offended by this idea. Of course you need those.

[handing]

“Sounds like he knows more about true love than I thought.”  Sorry, Ikki.  Pepper sides with her husband on this.

[breezing]

BETRAYED on all sides!! Ikki pouts. "Maybe it's just in MY world where that happens. ...but, I'm glad you're both happy even if you're not going to drink star potions."

[handing]

“Maybe.”  Don’t laugh at the pout.  Don’t laugh at the pout.  “But thank you.  Tony and I are very happy too—and very much in love.”
 
Since she doesn’t want the potionless state of their marriage to be a concern for Ikki.

[breezing]

"I'm glad!! Are you going to have babies?"

Her mommy and daddy had FOUR.

[handing]

"Babies? Well, we'll have to see." Although Pepper already knows the answer. They'd decided it wasn't for them even before the attack on their home in Malibu.

But it's one of those things better left unaddressed right now, so Pepper tries to divert the topic. "Do you have a lot of brothers and sisters?"

[breezing]

"I have one older sister and two younger brothers at home!" That's easy enough to talk about. "Jinora, Meelo, and Rohan. Only Jinora's ever been here."
