Who: Pepper Potts, Tony Stark, and everyone who has gathered there today.
What: A wedding and reception

Where: Cherry Blossom Hill / The Battle Dome
Summary: Pepper and Tony are getting married ~~finally~~ ~~officially~~ finally.
Rating: PG/PG-13 max? There's at least one kid here.
The decorations on the hill are simple ones; they've chosen this spot because it's naturally beautiful without the need for embellishments. Chairs have been set up for the expected guests, with a clear path laid out for the wedding party. And of course up front there is a place for those people to stand, in sight of everyone gathered so Tony won't be able to tell Pepper "I told you so" as color commentary won't be necessary.

After the ceremony everyone will be invited to go to the Battle Dome for the reception. There Tony's programmed an expansive hall with tables and seating enough for everyone. There's also a dance floor, which everyone is encouraged to take advantage of. The atmosphere is warm and vibrant, clearly intended to help all in attendance have a good time. Dinner will be served, and there's an open bar, with rum by request of the officiant.

Just don't get too rowdy, okay kids?

Pepper is trying to pace herself, but thankfully Natasha has been very good about making sure things other than alcohol end up in Pepper's system during the day. So when Sam offers her a glass, Pepper graciously accepts, bowing her head slightly.

"Thank you. I don't think I'll ever forget it." Even if beautiful isn't quite the right word in her mind, it has definitely been special. She takes a sip, then motions toward Sam with her free hand. "And look at you. Who knew you'd dress up so well?"

"I'm pretty sure it's the kind of thing you're meant to remember so that's good," he replies with an easy smile when she takes the glass. It had been pretty unique after all.

He gives a soft laugh when she says that, glancing down at the shirt and waistcoat he'd decided to wear. "Not me, definitely. I don't think I've ever owned anything this fancy before."

"Very true." She steals a sip then, the glass hiding her grin as Sam's eyes wander downward. "You definitely should consider it. There aren't too many occasions to get dressed up for around here, but I think it's worth going all out when you can."

"I can definitely get behind that. Any cause to celebrate is worth it, although up till now I've been more of a jeans and t-shirt kind of guy." But something like this... yeah, he could handle getting dressed up if it meant more occasions like this.

"We'll have to see. I heard there was another wedding, although the ceremony they described was a bit different." Not to mention that Pepper wasn't acquainted with either member of the couple. "Plus the holidays are coming up--so you never know.

"Of course, the clothing isn't the only part of it. Have you taken advantage of the dance floor yet?"

"Well, sounds like Luceti is a place for romance." He wonders what a Wedding in Abel would be like. It's not as though stuff doesn't happen after all. Even the apocalypse doesn't stop that and curfew is not exactly lax but certain things are overlooked.

"Oh god yeah! It's Christmas in a couple of months. Man, that's awesome. I bet we could actually have a proper dinner." A proper holiday. With presents and food and stuff.

"Uh, not really yet. Been watching the music for Jack though."

"Maybe." It had certainly become a place for opportunities that had been stolen away in their home worlds. Pepper's smile turned a touch melancholy, although she knew that Sam would understand the sentiment better than most. Today wasn't the day for those sorts of thoughts, however, and she let his enthusiasm revive her own.

"You definitely could. Natasha and Clint put together a party last year, although I had to miss it. But if it was anything like Thanksgiving, I'm sure it was grand."

She grinned when Sam admitted he hadn't been dancing yet. "He won't leave you here all night. You should make sure to get out there. A place for romance, right?"

"Oh right. Thanksgiving is... sometimes before Christmas isn't it?" He just remembered people online talking about it. "We could even have better things to eat than a Mars Bar cake, and that was a really awesome party." A celebration of their success in their joint mission, of some kind of hope being returned to them.

He looked a little taken aback when she mentioned romance to him, giving a small smile. "I'll try my best, I promise. I'm not exactly looking for anyone though. Not sure how much crazy a non-apocalypse person can take."

“About a month before for Americans; it’s the fourth Thursday in November.” She nodded in easy agreement when he spoke of food. “With any luck. Unless something drastic happens, the stores will be fully stocked, which means there will be a variety of things available.”

Including cereal if Tony had his way.

“You don’t have to promise me.” Her head tilted slightly to one side, Pepper smiled to Sam. “And I’m sure I don’t have to tell you to make the most of this place. It’s far from perfect, but still—there are opportunities to be thankful for.”

"It's okay. Even if they aren't, me and Simon have a lot of food stocked up. Tinned stuff. And water." Enough to last them in the event of... well, and apocalypse.

He gave a soft laugh at that, and nodded. "Yeah, there are. It's good, to be able to have a chance to do things again. Even in the apocalypse there are some things I regret not doing."

"That's probably a pretty smart thing to do in general." She didn't want to confirm Sam's fears, especially not on today of all days. But Pepper had experience enough to not dismiss the idea--along with a decent number of canned goods in her own home.

But she much preferred to focus on the talk of celebrations, current and future. "Well, you can still make up for some of them. Like if you regretted not dancing enough before? You've got a perfect opportunity to fix that." Pepper winked, then laughed to reassure Sam that she was only kidding.

At least for the most part.

"I like to be prepared." He did now anyway. He'd seen his world go grey so quickly and no-one had been expecting it. Why should it be any different here? And the apocalypse had shown him one thing at least; he was a survivor. He'd never thought it of himself, and mostly he was just muddling through, but he was.

"I'll dance! I'll dance and drink because pretty much all of the alcohol that's decent goes to the hospital these days. I do intend to enjoy myself."

"Good." She rested a hand on his upper arm, a light touch that only lasted a moment. Another glance around revealed Tony was free, and she gave Sam a grin.

"And speaking of, I think I'm going to take the opportunity to steal a dance with my husband. But I'll find you again if I don't see you out there." She laughed again, then headed off in Tony's direction.
