What: A wedding and reception
When: Sept 14, All Day
Where: Cherry Blossom Hill / The Battle Dome
Summary: Pepper and Tony are getting married finally officially finally.
Rating: PG/PG-13 max? There's at least one kid here.
The decorations on the hill are simple ones; they've chosen this spot because it's naturally beautiful without the need for embellishments. Chairs have been set up for the expected guests, with a clear path laid out for the wedding party. And of course up front there is a place for those people to stand, in sight of everyone gathered so Tony won't be able to tell Pepper "I told you so" as color commentary won't be necessary.

After the ceremony everyone will be invited to go to the Battle Dome for the reception. There Tony's programmed an expansive hall with tables and seating enough for everyone. There's also a dance floor, which everyone is encouraged to take advantage of. The atmosphere is warm and vibrant, clearly intended to help all in attendance have a good time. Dinner will be served, and there's an open bar, with rum by request of the officiant.

Just don't get too rowdy, okay kids?

Yeah, Tony registered that look. Gai was into that girl, big time - it was the same kind of look he got when he was talking about Pepper.

"Good for you." And he meant that. "And you brought her to a wedding. Not trying to send her a message, are you?"

Did he need advice? Tony would be more than happy to give it.

[voidseeing]

"Maybe I am." He smirked. "Or maybe I just enjoy her company."

He ventured a glance over in her direction and his expression sobered somewhat, into something almost resembling awe. "I've never met anyone quite like her before."

[alloys]

Tony grinned knowingly. "Then what are you waiting for? Get off your ass and put a ring on her."

[voidseeing]

Now Gai's eyebrows went up slightly. "After three months?"

Not that he didn't want to. He did, more than pretty much anything in the world. But he wasn't so out of it when it comes to typical social interaction that he didn't know that three months seemed a bit... hasty?

[alloys]

"You don't want to wait and end up regretting it. Trust me."

Never mind Tony had been with Pepper for years before he even considered marrying her. If there was one thing Luceti had taught him, it was that you had to take what you could while you still could.

[voidseeing]

Gai was no stranger to that mindset. He couldn't be, not when he'd known for years that he had a slow but inevitable death sentence on his head no thanks to the Apocalypse Virus. It had taught him to live in the moment and treat every day like it would be his last.

But... marriage? That was a pretty big deal, even here, and Gai was still figuring this whole relationship thing out.

"I don't plan on waiting too long. But I don't want to go jumping into things either without thinking them through."

[alloys]

"Sure, sure, you do that. Of course, the irony being that usually this sort of thing happens when you stop thinking them through."

It was true in his own case. He stopped overthinking it, stopped waiting for the answer to come to him before he just decided to go for it.

[voidseeing]

"So I'm supposed to believe you're an expert in this subject now that you've tied the knot?" Gai couldn't hide the amusement in his voice at Tony Stark of all people giving him advice on dating and marriage.

[alloys]

"Res ipsa loquitur. I'm successfully married, aren't I? Not exactly a quality among many of our fellow Lucetians. You don't have a lot of options, so you may as well give in and listen to me."

[voidseeing]

"Successfully married for less than two hours," Gai was quick to amend with a smile. "Come talk to me after it's been two months and we'll see what your answer is then."

[alloys]

There was a flicker of amusement over Tony's features, because what Gai didn't know was that Tony and Pepper had been married in their hearts for more than three weeks. But that wasn't a secret he was about to divulge, so instead he waved a hand dismissively.

"Please. I've known her for - what, fifteen years? I don't think I have any surprises to look forward to."
