Who: Pepper Potts, Tony Stark, and everyone who has gathered there today.
What: A wedding and reception

Where: Cherry Blossom Hill / The Battle Dome
Summary: Pepper and Tony are getting married ~~finally~~ ~~officially~~ finally.
Rating: PG/PG-13 max? There's at least one kid here.
The decorations on the hill are simple ones; they've chosen this spot because it's naturally beautiful without the need for embellishments. Chairs have been set up for the expected guests, with a clear path laid out for the wedding party. And of course up front there is a place for those people to stand, in sight of everyone gathered so Tony won't be able to tell Pepper "I told you so" as color commentary won't be necessary.

After the ceremony everyone will be invited to go to the Battle Dome for the reception. There Tony's programmed an expansive hall with tables and seating enough for everyone. There's also a dance floor, which everyone is encouraged to take advantage of. The atmosphere is warm and vibrant, clearly intended to help all in attendance have a good time. Dinner will be served, and there's an open bar, with rum by request of the officiant.

Just don't get too rowdy, okay kids?

Oh. [She winces and then attempts a smile. Way to go, Bishop.] Sorry.

...I'm kind of good at putting my foot in my mouth sometimes.

[Sam shakes his head.]

It's fine. Not like you knew. I'm not brilliant with not doing that myself.

Glad I'm not alone with that. [She says with a bit of a chuckle.] So, I'm guessing New York isn't that much of a hot spot to visit where you're from.

Well... let's just say that metropolitan areas are not high on my list of holiday destinations at the moment.

Too bad. The City's a great place to visit.

I bet it is. Ah, there's so many places that would've been cool to visit.

If I could, I'd drag you back to my Earth and give you a tour. [She gives a small shrug as she gets back into the swing of dancing.] Then again, if I could do that? I'd probably wouldn't be here right now.

Well, we can dream, right? I'm not sure what it would be like, another world. Like... what if they don't have some stuff you're just used to be completely normal?

[Eyebrows raise. Teasingly,]

Like zombies?

[He gives a soft laugh.]

There is that. I mean, the first few ays after the outbreak I was pretty sure I was hallucinating or something. Going crazy. That's supposed to be in films. Not real life.

God, I bet. [That's something, thankfully, she hasn't experienced. Time travelling warlords, superhero civil wars, Skrull invasions, insane reality warpers? That's all normal. But zombies?] Zombies definitely belong in films.

They really do. Although the films kind of skip over the long hours of... of really boring stuff actually. You don't expect to get bored in a zombie apocalypse.

Then again, being a superhero isn't nearly as glamorous as the comics make it seem.

[She should know. Been there, done that. On an almost regular basis while working with Clint.]

I guess- [Kate takes a step closer to him, hips swaying in beat with the song.] -reality just doesn't measure up to fiction.

Wait, you're a superhero?

[He stares for a moment, and then a broad grin breaks out across his face.]

Oh man, that is awesome! [And he doesn't even seem flustered at how close she's getting.]

I know.

[Way to play it all cool and smooth, Katie Kate.]

So, what kind of superheroing do you do then? A super spy? Flying round in an invisible aeroplane or something?

[She laughs and shakes her head.]

I'm not the Invisible Woman. But I am a really good archer. Almost as good as the original Hawkeye.

Hawkeye... wow! That is, that's so cool! I mean, Archery is pretty awesome. Pity Jody isn't here. She'd get a kick out of it.

Jody?

She's one of my runner. Runner 4. She arrived at Abel toting this sports bow around. Took out a bunch of zoms with it on her way up from London.

[An eyebrow's quirked.]

It's like you're talking in Greek or something. Runners?

Oh! Sorry. [Sam looks a little embarrassed.] I forget that most people don't come from the same place.

Runners are our lifeline. People who will go outside the walls to fetch supplies, or lead the zombies away, or just take messages and trade with other survivor settlements. I'm the chief communications operator for Abel, our town. It's my job to guide the Runners around, and to get them home safely. If I can.

Some job. [Which is, really, not much to say. And definitely makes her think that, in comparison, her life probably isn't so bad. But she can sympathize with Sam. Being in charge, in any capacity, isn't as easy as people think.] That's got to be rough on you.

Someone has to do it. And hey, I always wanted to work in radio!

[and some days he's grateful for all of this.]

It has it's moments.

Team leader. [Or, at least, she was. Back when there was a team to lead. She misses it sometimes. Other times, it was nice to just work alongside a partner. She could share responsibility then rather than having to deal with it all on her own.

She shrugged.] Someone has to do it.
