Who: Pepper Potts, Tony Stark, and everyone who has gathered there today.
What: A wedding and reception

Where: Cherry Blossom Hill / The Battle Dome
Summary: Pepper and Tony are getting married ~~finally~~ ~~officially~~ finally.
Rating: PG/PG-13 max? There's at least one kid here.
The decorations on the hill are simple ones; they've chosen this spot because it's naturally beautiful without the need for embellishments. Chairs have been set up for the expected guests, with a clear path laid out for the wedding party. And of course up front there is a place for those people to stand, in sight of everyone gathered so Tony won't be able to tell Pepper "I told you so" as color commentary won't be necessary.

After the ceremony everyone will be invited to go to the Battle Dome for the reception. There Tony's programmed an expansive hall with tables and seating enough for everyone. There's also a dance floor, which everyone is encouraged to take advantage of. The atmosphere is warm and vibrant, clearly intended to help all in attendance have a good time. Dinner will be served, and there's an open bar, with rum by request of the officiant.

Just don't get too rowdy, okay kids?

[If that was what Gai preferred, Elizabeth doesn't want to begrudge him. She smiles, wide, glowing.]

You never have trouble making me smile.

I'd be worried if I did.

[He loves her smile more than just about anything else in the world. And when it's directed at him? He feels like the luckiest guy in the world.]

[She considers him for a moment, letting him take in her smile for a little longer before laying her head on his shoulder again.]

Someday I want to make you laugh. A real laugh, not just that little 'oh, how amusing' laugh you do.

[That surprises him a little, and he finds himself glad that she can't see his face and the expression there when she says that.]

I don't know if I can, but if that's what you want, I think I can do my best to try.

Gai, you aren't supposed to try to laugh, that ruins the whole thing. [Elizabeth giggles and leans backwards into the arm Gai has around her waist.]

[Carefully, to avoid straining himself or overbalancing, Gai dips her back a little, still grinning.]

So you'd rather I didn't laugh at all?

[He's clearly teasing her.]

[The little dip, small as it is, draws a quiet giggle out of Elizabeth but she straightens up quickly enough. Just to avoid straining Gai, too.]

Yes. I'd rather you frown at me all the time, like you're upset at something I've done. That brightens my day, it really does. [She's clearly teasing him right back.]

[Gai is grateful for that silent little acknowledgment of his current health; once she's back upright, he pulls her against him again with a gentle yet possessive arm around her waist.]

If I didn't know better, I'd say you like it just so you have an excuse to try to make me smile instead.

Ah, caught. [She grins and drapes herself on Gai according to the signals she's getting from that possessive arm.] It's entirely a fault of my ego. You frown, I say something like...

[After thinking for a moment her eyes fall (of course) on the lapel of Gai's suit. She smiles and nuzzles Gai's jaw very softly and very covertly. Maybe it had just been an accidental brush...] I have the most handsome date here.

...and then you smile, and I'm happy.

[She could've passed it off as an accidental brush if Gai didn't lean in to nuzzle right back, not caring in the slightest if anyone catches him doing so. There's absolutely no shame on his end-- if there were, he would never have invited her to this wedding in the first place. He wants everyone to know that she's here with him.]

I think you stole my line, only in my case it would be "I have the most beautiful date here." I'd even say that you put the bride herself to shame if I were properly dressed to be able to deal with the angry groom.

Oh no, not at all Gai. [Elizabeth looks anxiously around the room, hoping Pepper and Tony aren't in earshot. Thankfully they're across the room, so Elizabeth can give Gai a resigned smile.]

On her wedding day, the bride is the most beautiful woman in the room without question. I'm willing to wait my turn.

I'm just being honest.

[And he is. His eyes are only for her now, no matter how beautiful any other woman in the room may be.]

[And what eyes they are. Elizabeth's own eyes are practically sparkling--she'd thought it wasn't possible to fall more in love with Gai. Apparently there's something further down than 'hopelessly devoted', and she's going there.]

When you're well, and the dam breaks, you aren't going to be able to leave your apartment for the entire day. Fair warning.

Warning?

[He laughs, letting the hand on her waist slip just the tiniest bit lower to the small of her back. He would move it down even more, but they ARE in public and he is trying to behave himself at least somewhat today.]

Sounds like something to look forward to.

[For a quick second, Elizabeth thinks Gai isn't going to behave himself (he IS Gai, after all), and gets a half-squeak out before his hand stops. Cheeky boyfriend...]

All I'm saying is that before you tell me you're well, you'd better go to the grocery store and do anything that can't be put on hold for a day. Because I probably will exercise my deadly powers of persuasion.

[Oh, that was cute. Cute enough that he doesn't even feel like he missed out on anything by not going for the gold there.]

You're making this sound better and better by the minute.

[Then, lowering his voice...]

But you forgot to factor in the day after that where we'll both be too exhausted to move.

[Elizabeth's letting Gai's voice carry her away a little bit. But she hadn't slept by herself since before the mission, so there were certain... things she hadn't seen to in weeks. And they're at a wedding, love all around, Gai is dancing with her in a perfectly fitted suit and saying these things...]

[Things that she isn't shy about. She's blushing, but she's more than interested.] I'll make sure the ice box is restocked, then.

[Gai knew exactly what he was doing when he pulled out that tone of voice. He was aiming for a very specific reaction, and judging by the blush rising on Elizabeth's face, he got just what he wanted out of her.

He can't resist leaning in for a kiss before he finally responds to her statement. Okay, it's not an entirely chaste kiss. To his credit, though, he won't let it get out of hand.]

You've got yourself a deal.

[Elizabeth wants it to get out of hand. God does she want it. Not enough to hurt Gai, though, and reminding herself of that makes it easier not to try to start that kiss up again. Instead, she smiles and puts her head back on Gai's chest. Less temptation.]

[Gai is fine with that, resting his chin against her head as he just holds her close. He'd had his misgivings about being invited to a wedding, but in the end, he couldn't be happier that they'd come. It's been a good time for both of them, and while he may not have gotten a yes out of her, the answer he did get is more than good enough for him.

He can wait, as long as they can have what they have right now.]
