House of M - The Beginning

Who: Billy Kaplan + Anyone who wants to be involved in the House of M Plot + Related CR + Anyone Really
What: Um. The House of M Plot.
When: October 1st-7th
Where: Literally anywhere in Luceti, yo
Summary: Billy returns from a kidnapping feeling a bit, er, different. A white light envelops the village for just a moment, and when it fades... well. All kinds of things are different, actually.
Rating: Varies, anything above R take it elsewhere!

Still accepting last minute sign-ups, if anyone is interested.

It starts off so innocently, early on the morning of October 1st. A burst of light, a warm rush of energy that consumes everything it touches, and it's gentle enough to feel like stepping out into sunlight from the shade. It's so brief that some people might not even notice it happened. But there are certainly... differences. Some subtle, some not. And those changed won't even understand the problem.

After all, why would perfection be a problem?

The truth is, there are no problems. There can't be. It's perfect, Billy thinks. Believes it. His belief is his reality, and now, it's their reality. It all has to be perfect; they deserve it, all of them, for one reason or another. And he'll do whatever he has to protect that perfection from being tainted, ruined, taken away from them.

Teddy died so this could happen, after all.

So what is your new reality?

Which you apparently did.  [Pepper winks when the timer sounds, then takes Bucky up on his suggestion by heading to their regular table with box in hand.  Of course she doesn’t miss the exchange of looks, knowing that brand of fondness quite well.  She’s thrilled for both of them, so happy to see the love evident between them.]

They’re both doing well; Susie had a fantastic week at school, and Tony didn’t blow the house up beyond repair.  [It’s been a good week at house Potts-Stark.  Of course, the news extends beyond the normal day to day, but Pepper tempers her smile as she opens the package.]  What about you two, and Rue?
jamesbarnes: (I dunno about that)

[Bucky sets everything up on a tray while the ladies pick a table. It's a nice routine, getting together, talking about their kids and their lives that aren't in danger anymore. Maybe it's not as exciting as it used to be, but he thinks it's a fair exchange.

He takes the tray over and sets it on the table so everyone can help themselves and sinks into his own chair.]
Still too young to be dating boys.

[From the resigned tone of voice, this is a conversation he's had before.]

A week without Tony blowing up the house can usually be counted as a success, I'd think. I did catch him having tea the other day though. He looked darling. [Natasha's voice is thick with amusement as she joined Pepper at the table, then chuckled as Bucky carried the tray over.] Don't listen to him, he's sulking.

[Which didn't stop her at all from transferring her amused look to her husband.] Besides, how old were you when you started dating girls?

Beyond repair. [There had been a hole in the roof, but Luceti provides. Pepper picks up a cup, although she doesn't drink yet. Which turns out to be a good thing as Natasha mentions the tea party.] Oh, you mean when he was Princess Daddy? It really was adorable. I got roped in after grocery shopping.

[And Pepper couldn't have been happier.

She raises an eyebrow when the sulking commences.]
I'm pretty sure I was that age when I got my first boyfriend. [Thankfully Susanna's got a few more years, though Pepper keeps that thought to herself. Instead she raises an eyebrow as Natasha brings up a very good point.] And don't try to say it's different for boys, because it isn't.

Please tell me you took pictures. I'm the only one on the planet who hasn't seen this.

[Bucky gestures to his wife.] And that is exactly my point. You know what I was like at that age? It is different for boys. We're jerks.

I did, I'll show you later. [Natasha's smile is impish at that.] Princess Daddy, is it? There's a name that should stick. It can be his new superhero persona.

[Natasha laughs at Bucky's objection.] Maybe you are, but I don't think that has anything to do with age. Besides, Mytho is sweet.

I want a copy.  [Because nothing would be a better accent for their refrigerator than a shot of Tony in his tiara, especially if Susie had taken the opportunity to jump in—which Pepper is sure the girl would.  She picks up her coffee, grinning as Natasha teases about the possibilities for a new identity for the now-retired Iron Man.]  Only if his superheroing is limited to our kids.

[Kids.  Plural, and deliberately so.  Pepper is a god awful lair, but she thankfully has a coffee mug to hide her grin behind while she wants to see if either Bucky or Natasha pick up on that.]

You may have been, but there are also boys like Steve.  [Who is as wholesome as they come, and Pepper can’t see him ever being a jerk in the sense that Bucky implies.]  So the boy’s name is Mytho?  I don’t think I know him.
jamesbarnes: (I have no idea)

[Bucky just groans and puts his head in his hands. Over-dramatic, sure, but everyone seems to miss the memo about him and Steve being partners in crime. Granted, if this Mytho kid is much like Steve, maybe he won't mind too much.]

I just met him the other... wait, kids?

[Natasha hadn't missed that word choice either, and shot Pepper a surprised glance for a moment before her lips started to curve into a bright grin. She shifted out of her seat, coming to give her friend a big hug.] Oh, Pepper, really? Congratulations!

[And that’s what happens when you have former spies and soldiers for dear friends.

She’s already beaming by the time Bucky asks, and barely has time to set her mug down again before Natasha wraps her arms around Pepper in a warm hug, which she eagerly returns.]

Thank you! We’re all very happy about it.

[Bucky follows his wife shortly, wrapping his arms around Pepper.]

And we're happy for you. When did you find out?

Looks like I'm going to have to start making you something other than coffee for our early morning dates. [Natasha chuckled, giving her friend a squeeze before sinking back down across from her.] How did Tony take it? Have you told Susanna?
handing: (so sweet the smile)

Re: Sunday, Both!

[From one to the other, and Pepper shares an embrace with Natasha and Bucky both before settling back into her chair.] Thursday, which made it very hard to wait until Friday night to tell Tony. [But she'd wanted be alone with him first, especially since they hadn't been trying for their second child.]

He's ecstatic; I think he's already plotting how he'll spoil our new baby like he has Susanna. [Although it's partially said in jest; Tony's a wonderful father, even if he does relent too easily at times.] And we did tell Susanna. She's very eager to be a big sister and to help take care of the baby. I think spending time with Anja probably helped.
