Happy Thanksgiving!

What: Celebrate Thanksgiving.

Where: Kate's apartment (and the kitchen of Floor 6 of the Ground Building)
Summary: Earlier in the week, Kate put out an journal message inviting people to Thanksgiving. This is the result.
Rating: PG/PG-13

It wasn't until cooking experimentation two nights before at Sam and Simon's that Kate began to suspect that cooking a Thanksgiving dinner might be a whole lot harder than she had planned. Apparently, there was a relatively big difference between cooking just one dish for yourself and cooking enough to feed a horde.

At the end of the day, though, Kate finds herself pleased with the end result. The table she dragged into her apartment is set up against the wall to act as a buffet table. People ought to be willing to help themselves to whatever food they want. And there's definitely a decent spread, thanks in part mostly to her friends.



If there's one thing Kate Bishop is thankful for this year? It's having the people she has in her life.

He reminds me almost every day around 5 or 6 when I'm approaching starvation mode.

[She grins at that. It's a little too easy to imagine. But more than that, it's good to hear either of them talking like this about the other.

Their anniversary getaway must have done them some good.]

Don't thank me. Maybe I'm just trying to dispel the rumour that we're actually joined at the hip.

[Considering she’s made how many excuses so far tonight to steal a kiss from Simon? For once, Kate’s not going to tease. God, if they ever get as bad as Billy and Teddy… Actually, no need to worry about that, she tells herself. Not when it comes to two people who both feel as if they know absolutely shit about doing this whole relationship thing. They’ll probably screw this up before they ever reach that point.

But it still gets something of a smirk. And:]

Y’know, now that we both have boyfriends, we should totally double date sometime.

That? Is an amazing idea. Seriously, let's make it happen. I'm sure Teddy would love it, too.

I'll run it by Simon. But I've gotten good at getting him to agree to things lately.

It really is easier to convince someone after the bedroom's gotten involved, isn't it? I feel like it should be some sort of modern-age debate technique.

Then we'd all be out of a job.

Unless it was just a one-time thing. Like, one sexual encounter per argument. That'd lead to less unemployment and more... I dunno, laundromats.

[She had meant the soldiers and the superheros, all those people that made something of their lives through the conflicts people found with one another. But Kate doesn't bother to correct him. It's like living after Cassie and Jonas' deaths all over again.

She even suppresses her sigh, flashing him an amused smirk instead.]

Maybe a boom in the furniture businesses, too. Someone's gotta provide all those beds.

That's a little simplistic, though. You definitely don't need a bed to have sex.
