Happy Thanksgiving!
Who: Kate Bishop and anyone interested.
What: Celebrate Thanksgiving.
When: Thursday, November 29
Where: Kate's apartment (and the kitchen of Floor 6 of the Ground Building)
Summary: Earlier in the week, Kate put out an journal message inviting people to Thanksgiving. This is the result.
Rating: PG/PG-13
It wasn't until cooking experimentation two nights before at Sam and Simon's that Kate began to suspect that cooking a Thanksgiving dinner might be a whole lot harder than she had planned. Apparently, there was a relatively big difference between cooking just one dish for yourself and cooking enough to feed a horde.
At the end of the day, though, Kate finds herself pleased with the end result. The table she dragged into her apartment is set up against the wall to act as a buffet table. People ought to be willing to help themselves to whatever food they want. And there's definitely a decent spread, thanks in part mostly to her friends.

If there's one thing Kate Bishop is thankful for this year? It's having the people she has in her life.
[ooc: open to anyone who might have seen her post!]

Why don't we fridge the two, and set out the third. ... I'm not sure if I can wait for dessert.
Happy Thanksgiving, by the way.

Me neither. Honestly, the only thing stopping me is not wanting to look like a pig. I could probably eat the whole thing myself.
[She won't, but she really could.]
Happy Thanksgiving, too. This is actually the first one I've ever celebrated. That holiday doesn't exist in my world.
[She likes it, though. Any holiday that involves getting together with people to share a meal and be thankful for things is a good holiday in her books.]

She nods her head as she accepts the pie, heading to the kitchen to help putting the others away-- maybe grab the fridge door for Bulla.]
It's mostly an American holiday, I think, but my family's lived there for most of my life, and the last year or two I've actually gotten to celebrate it. [She doesn't know if Bulla knows what "America" is, or if that's just a nonsense word to her. Thankfully this thought doesn't even occur to her, so she chatters on, oblivious.] It's really great. Food, family, good feelings... Of course I'm going to have to actually work out next week, so I don't get love handles. ...But I think that's worth it.

Well, you're welcome to join me for some training. Hey! How about I try to teach you how to fly? That takes training, and how cool would it be for you to ring in the new year flying?
[With a playful wink, she adds,]
...just don't try it after drinking.

If you're not sober by tomorrow, then you've got bigger problems than not being able to fly.
[She'll make sure to bring her friend the occasional glass of water just in case, though. Flying while hungover probably won't work much better...]

[Bulla's found that it takes quite a lot to get her drunk. It's possible to get someone with Saiyan blood drunk, but it takes a lot of some potent liquor to manage it typically.
So she's not the least bit worried about what anyone in her family would say about her drinking. Yes, she may be sixteen, but a full cup of wine might as well be a sip for all that it's going to do to her.]
We can have a toast and everything.

[She's being silly, but they're all perfectly good things to toast to in her opinion. And they're all things she is thankful for.]
