Happy Thanksgiving!

Who: Kate Bishop and anyone interested.
What: Celebrate Thanksgiving.

Where: Kate's apartment (and the kitchen of Floor 6 of the Ground Building)
Summary: Earlier in the week, Kate put out an journal message inviting people to Thanksgiving. This is the result.
Rating: PG/PG-13

It wasn't until cooking experimentation two nights before at Sam and Simon's that Kate began to suspect that cooking a Thanksgiving dinner might be a whole lot harder than she had planned. Apparently, there was a relatively big difference between cooking just one dish for yourself and cooking enough to feed a horde.

At the end of the day, though, Kate finds herself pleased with the end result. The table she dragged into her apartment is set up against the wall to act as a buffet table. People ought to be willing to help themselves to whatever food they want. And there's definitely a decent spread, thanks in part mostly to her friends.



If there's one thing Kate Bishop is thankful for this year? It's having the people she has in her life.

It makes her laugh, too. Her mother had drilled in the whole, 'it's the thought that counts' motto when she was younger. If anyone needs that to be applicable to his deeds, it tends to be Simon.

His sputtering only makes her laugh more and she flashes an innocent grin at him. "Hey, I'm talking about my sex life here, not his."

He gives her a thoroughly unimpressed look, not believing that innocent look for even a second. "You're sleeping with him, so it is his sex life too!"

But, but...

"Technicalities."

[voiceinthedark]

"It's a pretty big technicality!"

[tryit]

"But that doesn't change the fact that it is a technicality."

[voiceinthedark]

"I still don't want to know about it!"

[tryit]

She smirks a little at that. He really can be adorable at times. "Everyone does it."

[voiceinthedark]

"I know that! I just don't want to hear about it." Why would he want to? It was kind of gross.

[tryit]

Maybe once upon a time, she would have agreed with him. But that was before Simon and having sex with relative regularity. Now, suddenly, it seemed like the best thing ever.

"Fine. Fine."

[voiceinthedark]

"It's good that you're so happy with him though. It's nice."

[tryit]

"It is, isn't it?"

Maybe it's a trick of the light, but for a moment there, Kate almost looks a little bashful. But she doubts that she's going to get tired of hearing compliments on her relationship. She's never had one last this long, or be this successful. It doesn't matter that it's only been a month. To her, it totally counts.

"Really is." He's happy for both of them. Kate seems really happy with Simon and Simon's... well, he's Simon. But he isn't a bad guy. It's the kind of happiness that he likes seeing. Makes everything a bit lighter.
