A Very Brodinson Family Solstice

Who: Everyone's invited, party hosted by Loki and Thor!
What: Solstice party!
When: December 20 (Hunt) and 21 (Party!)
Where: The woods, then up in the mountain
Summary: It's a very Brodinson Solstice, Charlie Brown, and all are invited. Hunting, booze, and fire! NOTHING COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG.
Rating: If you get above PG-13 kids, take it somewhere else.

December 20
The day starts early, with Thor gathering all the hunters up at dawn. Loki is there just at the beginning, long enough to make certain everyone who needs a horse has one. Then it's off into the woods, brave hunters! Meanwhile, Loki heads back to his house, where he works to put the magical whammy in the magical whammy mead.

December 21
Preparations for the party, including decorations, happen all day up in the mountains, an easy walk from the hot springs. At dusk, Loki, with Rogue at his side, and Thor walk through the village. They each carry a lantern that shines brightly. They gather up everyone for the party, and then escort them to the teleporter by the rec center.

Near the rec center is the wishing tree, as last year. There's a small fire (contained with a bit of magic) for people to burn sacrifices and offerings, and then paper and string for tying wishes to the tree's branches.

The teleporter at the rec center takes everyone to the hot springs, and from there it's a short walk to the site of the party.

There's an enormous bonfire, tons of food, ridiculous amounts of alcohol (some of it with extra added whammy--and it's mostly unmarked so good luck) and excellent winter and fire-themed decorations. Space has been cleared for dancing, and there's a DJ station with speakers all ready for Jack to work his talents.

And then the party commences. And it goes. All. Night. All night. ALL NIGHT.

In the darkest hour of the night, just before false dawn, Thor hoists up a monstrous wooden wheel that he and Loki put together earlier in the day. Loki (drunkenly) calls Billy out of the crowd to set the wheel on fire. Then shouting their heads off, they shove the burning wheel off down the mountain and watch it go until it crashes somewhere in the distance. (It, too, has thankfully been spelled to not set the forest on fire. Because that would be an unfortunate way to end the evening.)

Drunken debauchery continues until dawn, at which point people can crawl their way home and prepare to nurse their epic hangovers.
