The situation was as he thought, then. But Levi's reasoning is more than a little worrying, and Erwin allows his expression to show it in the way his brow furrows and his mouth hardens.

"We have plenty to fight, Levi, and more than enough reason to do so." He's leaning forward just a little as he rests one arm flat on the table. "Our gear may arrive yet. Either way, I will need you well. This is just another cage of which we must strive to break free. We are kept here against our will, where horrific things may be done to us, and to others. As you well know, it is impossible to accept this idly. Our enemies are not Titans. We do not know precisely who or what they are. But that is all the more reason to be cautious and to take care of ourselves. Recklessness without reason is pointless."

"I do not want you to be vulnerable." They are all vulnerable, when their enemy is so powerful, but Levi's injury puts him in an even worse position.
