What: First Annual Luceti Tournament
When: May 2nd
Where: Battle Dome
Summary: Peony has made good on his promise to set up a tournament and today is the day for all the action.
Rating: PG-13 for the violence/fighting/possible language.

Finally the promised day has arrived! As competitors and audiences alike gather for the start, the whole outside area draws the eye to the grand carpet and banners with symbols for every event. There is also a table being restocked with free snacks and water bottles for those waiting around or still finding their way. Most notably, though, is a signboard with the times for all the events and competitors.

Whether you're competing or here for the entertainment, however, it's hoped you'll enjoy the events and fight or cheer hard! Now without further ado, make your own threads or comment around and let the games begin...

I'm just bein' fair about it!

[ But he makes to meet that slash with his own defense. Bringing his own sword up to block and intercept is all that he can manage right now ]

[Rather than try and overpower Rin's defense, he draws his sword back once it connects with Rin's and tries to follow it up with another attack. He aims low, trying to slash around Rin's sword so not to end up clashing with it again.]

[ Which...! Works! Rin does manage to try to backstep, but the sword does connect with his leg. He doesn't let up though, instead just stumbling back to try to make for an overhead slash ]

[As the last attack connected he was planning to follow up with another swipe with his sword, but the overhead slash catches him off guard. Quickly he ducks down to avoid it, putting him into an awkward crouch position with his free hand being used to support himself. It's a poor position to be in, but he tries another attack at Rin's legs since it worked pretty well last time.]

[ and he skids back at that, again to try to evade it, but that trips hims up a little. The slash doesn't connect, which also over-balanced him. The combination of the two means that he ends up tripping over his own tail a little, and actually stumbles bit. Some coreography ]

[Really Rin, tripping over your own tail? That's... Pretty impressive? He can't help shooting Rin an odd look at that. It might not have been a hit but getting him to stumble back is pretty good too. He uses this chance to attack again, bringing his sword up in front of him in a long vertical slash as he stands up.]

[rashness]

Hey, hey, I'm not out yet!

[ And whole he's now flat-footed, he does manage to bring the sword up to intercept it. He holds the back of it with his other hand, even, to reinforce the block ]

[accepted]

You will be soon if you pull another move like that!

[It seems he spoke to soon as his sword clashes against Rin's again, the strengthened guard Rin put up being a little more than he expected.

With the position he was in from his last attack it's difficult for him to pull back so he can try a different attack. So this time he tries to push against the guard, his free hand flying to the hilt of his sword to put what strength he has into breaking Rin's defense.]

Shut up!

[ And Rin just pushes back more! Trying to use his strength to turn this defense into an offensive push! He can do this!! ]

[accepted]

[Do this he can!! Caius ends up being pushed back, stumbling a little as he tries to regain his footing and his stance. He waves his sword in front of him as he falls back, trying to deter any follow up attacks!]

[rashness]

[ ALRIGHT HE'S GOT THIS!! ]

Haaaah!

[ And he tries to go in for a slash! Horizontal slash ]

[accepted]

[He slashes back wildly to try and defend himself with a horizontal slash of his own. The attack is too high though, leading to his slash sailing just over the top of Rin's attack. With that he ends up taking the attack, Rin's sword scoring a nice hit on his dominant arm.]

I messed up...

[Really he shouldn't have been so careless. Or perhaps so confident? Either way he'll be more careful next time. He hops back and stands on the balls of his feet, holding his sword up as though he's ready to strike should Rin decide to move in.]

[ AND HE IS GOING TO LEAP BACK FOR JOY NOW. hehehehe ]

[He wouldn't have minded being hit so bad if Rin didn't have to act all happy over it, it was only one hit it isn't that amazing wow--]

Well you're not doing it again!!

[Running in, he lifts his sword up and slashes down at Rin once he's closed the gap between them!]

[rashness]

[ Which Rin tries to block! ... And fails! So he gets launched backwards a bit but also just takes the blow ( ow) ]

[YEAH that's 2 to 1 now BUT HE'S NOT LETTING UP.

After that hit he moves with the momentum of his sword, turning his body and bringing his sword around him as he moves. He attacks a second time in a wide, horizontal sweep!]

Hey, hey, no fair!

[ Rin struggles to mount a defense to that swipe. He manages to get his sword up, but it does only sort of slide it off before it ends up cutting him on one of the legs anyway because he didn't get it at the right angle. Ow ]

[accepted]

[YOUR FACE ISN'T FAIR- Yeah woo another hit in.]

What's not fair about it?!

[He lifts his sword to attack for a third time, bringing it down in much the same way as his first attack.]

[rashness]

I don't really know, it's just not fair!

[ And he rolls out of the way this time... sort of! But it means that his tail got hit, and that makes him yelp, because that hurts a lot ]

[accepted]

[Oh, he didn't expect to hit his tail of all things. But a hit is still a hit, so he'll take it!]

That doesn't make any sense!

[There's a pause in his attacks as he follows Rin with his eyes, waiting for him to come out of his roll. He draws his sword back, holding it over his shoulder but not swinging down just yet.]

[rashness]

That hurt a lot, you know!

[ But now he's back up! And he's defenseless! ]

[accepted]

I wasn't aiming for that, it's your fault for moving out of the way and not covering your tail better!

[Yup. Not his fault for attacking, it's Rin's for not moving better. Obviously. He takes a step towards Rin and brings his sword down hard towards him once he's back up!]

Haaah!

[rashness]

[ And that is a blow which would have been fatal. So the judges are calling the match. Caius is the winner.

Despite this, Rin vainly tried to mount a defense, failed, and ended up on his ass. He got to standing, but... ]

[accepted]

[AW YEAH. He can't help but smile and laugh a little to himself. Heh, he won, awesome!

He holds out his free hand to Rin to support him. Did his attack on Rin's tail really hurt that badly? Things quickly went his way once he damaged the tail, so he has to wonder.]
