Who: Everyone!
What: First Annual Luceti Tournament
When: May 2nd
Where: Battle Dome
Summary: Peony has made good on his promise to set up a tournament and today is the day for all the action.
Rating: PG-13 for the violence/fighting/possible language.

Finally the promised day has arrived! As competitors and audiences alike gather for the start, the whole outside area draws the eye to the grand carpet and banners with symbols for every event. There is also a table being restocked with free snacks and water bottles for those waiting around or still finding their way. Most notably, though, is a signboard with the times for all the events and competitors.

Whether you're competing or here for the entertainment, however, it's hoped you'll enjoy the events and fight or cheer hard! Now without further ado, make your own threads or comment around and let the games begin...

[YEAH that's 2 to 1 now BUT HE'S NOT LETTING UP.

After that hit he moves with the momentum of his sword, turning his body and bringing his sword around him as he moves. He attacks a second time in a wide, horizontal sweep!]

Hey, hey, no fair!

[ Rin struggles to mount a defense to that swipe. He manages to get his sword up, but it does only sort of slide it off before it ends up cutting him on one of the legs anyway because he didn't get it at the right angle. Ow ]

[YOUR FACE ISN'T FAIR- Yeah woo another hit in.]

What's not fair about it?!

[He lifts his sword to attack for a third time, bringing it down in much the same way as his first attack.]

I don't really know, it's just not fair!

[ And he rolls out of the way this time... sort of! But it means that his tail got hit, and that makes him yelp, because that hurts a lot ]

[Oh, he didn't expect to hit his tail of all things. But a hit is still a hit, so he'll take it!]

That doesn't make any sense!

[There's a pause in his attacks as he follows Rin with his eyes, waiting for him to come out of his roll. He draws his sword back, holding it over his shoulder but not swinging down just yet.]

That hurt a lot, you know!

[ But now he's back up! And he's defenseless! ]

I wasn't aiming for that, it's your fault for moving out of the way and not covering your tail better!

[Yup. Not his fault for attacking, it's Rin's for not moving better. Obviously. He takes a step towards Rin and brings his sword down hard towards him once he's back up!]

Haaah!

[ And that is a blow which would have been fatal. So the judges are calling the match. Caius is the winner.

Despite this, Rin vainly tried to mount a defense, failed, and ended up on his ass. He got to standing, but... ]

[AW YEAH. He can't help but smile and laugh a little to himself. Heh, he won, awesome!

He holds out his free hand to Rin to support him. Did his attack on Rin's tail really hurt that badly? Things quickly went his way once he damaged the tail, so he has to wonder.]

Are you okay?

Yeah... Yeah, I'm fine.

[ Uuuuugggguuu.

At least the safety was on ]

You don't look it.

[Haha that face. Oh yeah, still smiling. Still very happy with himself. But if Rin says his fine-!]

Anyway, that was a good fight, right? You were pretty good up until the end.

Y-yeah, thanks. I guess I've never been that great with actually using a sword.

You could use some training or something to help you with your sword, yeah. [Might as well be honest.] It was really clumsy of you, walking over your own tail.

That never happens, usually!

['Usually' huh.] So it just happens when you're in a tournament where that sort of thing matters. Can't you just... Move it up and away from your feet?

I don't really control it all that well, that's all!

I thought something like that would be easy. [But hey, he's not the one with the tail here.] Isn't it just like moving your arm or any other part of your body? You just do it automatically in a fight.

[While he talks, he nods his head towards the exit. Let's go get snacks and get healed up? Let's go get snacks and get healed up.]

But fine, fine. Let's go. He collects both the sword he used and Kurikara ]

... What's it like then? Do you need to put more thought into moving it around or what?

[Genuinely curious. Maybe Rin deserves more credit for how he fought if it's actually pretty difficult to keep his tail out of the way.]

I don't know, I guess I just gotta work with it more. [ Or he could go back to wrapping it under his clothes. Who knows. Collected, he now needs to go to see if he should get checked up! ]

Huh, okay... Guess you've gotta train with it like everything else. [While Rin goes off to make sure he isn't dying, Caius will go grab some refreshments for the two of them. He only has this mark on his arm from where Rin got him and pfft like that needs seeing to.]

[ And eventually, he's back! But he needs to go and take a seat in the stands. But Caius will need to do a follow up fight... right...? But hey, they get refreshments, and can hang out ]

[Oh yeah. He will. He'll probably need to go see the judges and work out when his next round is. But after that's sorted they go hang out. And eat stuff and drink stuff. And talk about fighting and techniques and all that good tournament stuff. And I really can't end threads as classily as you can, but basically good times were had by all.]
