Who: Everyone!
What: First Annual Luceti Tournament
When: May 2nd
Where: Battle Dome
Summary: Peony has made good on his promise to set up a tournament and today is the day for all the action.
Rating: PG-13 for the violence/fighting/possible language.

Finally the promised day has arrived! As competitors and audiences alike gather for the start, the whole outside area draws the eye to the grand carpet and banners with symbols for every event. There is also a table being restocked with free snacks and water bottles for those waiting around or still finding their way. Most notably, though, is a signboard with the times for all the events and competitors.

Whether you're competing or here for the entertainment, however, it's hoped you'll enjoy the events and fight or cheer hard! Now without further ado, make your own threads or comment around and let the games begin...

Advancements aren't infallible. There are other aspects that can threaten a society.
generalflirt: (It goes up...!)

[personal profile] generalflirt 2014-08-01 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
So by that logic, society doesn't advance linearly onward? There's pit stops in that "time?"
wise_maiden: (there is something curious about this)

[personal profile] wise_maiden 2014-08-01 07:30 pm (UTC)(link)
I wouldn't call them pit stops, but if you take wars into account, or natural decline of resources in that time, there are factors there.

Mmm. So you imagine that people are going to dig up computers when they're back in the stone age?
wise_maiden: (listen up and take notes)

[personal profile] wise_maiden 2014-08-01 10:15 pm (UTC)(link)
You should never discount possibilities. Besides, we've seen the evidence with magitechnology. Once the mana is gone, the machinery becomes obsolete...
generalflirt: Modified by <user name="saltprince"> (PM if you want me to take it down) (Okay then dude)

[personal profile] generalflirt 2014-08-01 10:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Hold up, hold up.

[ He holds ups a hand here ]

Magitechnology?
wise_maiden: (a closer look at the situation)

[personal profile] wise_maiden 2014-08-01 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes? [She raises an eyebrow, as if to say did nothing stick with you from classes at all?]
generalflirt: (Amp to Eleven)

[personal profile] generalflirt 2014-08-01 11:06 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm... pretty sure that never existed in my world.

[ Yes, yes, he recalls it now, actually. Ancient technology powered by magic stuff ]
wise_maiden: (there is something curious about this)

[personal profile] wise_maiden 2014-08-02 12:11 am (UTC)(link)
Other worlds have had some variation, but I don't believe Earth was one of them... [Though there had been Earths with magic and extremely advanced technology to her knowledge...]

In any case, there are ruins from Sylvarant that reflect the high point of society in those times. Although, granted, there were cycles that were dictated, of regeneration and decline.
generalflirt: (Haa~ah)

[personal profile] generalflirt 2014-08-02 12:25 am (UTC)(link)
Oh yeah... yeah, I think I recall that. Cycles based on the rise and fall of that one group of oppressive fellows, and overturned to make it blossom again, right?
wise_maiden: (waiting to change)

[personal profile] wise_maiden 2014-08-02 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
... Something like that, anyway. [ She hadn't made it a point to be too explicit about the details with more than just a few people, given Mithos's presence in the enclosure and her other hangups. ] Granted that world situation is a bit ... unique when compared to the others out there.
generalflirt: (No Trust At All)

[personal profile] generalflirt 2014-08-02 07:13 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. I mean, they do say that history happens in cycles on Earth, but I can't say that I've ever seen the truth in that.
wise_maiden: (there is something curious about this)

[personal profile] wise_maiden 2014-08-02 12:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Has it never been fully researched?
generalflirt: Modified by <user name="saltprince"> (PM if you want me to take it down) (Always Online)

[personal profile] generalflirt 2014-08-02 06:56 pm (UTC)(link)
More like, as far as I know, there's no evidence there for anyone to bother researching it. Hell, the people who say stuff like "Atlantis was a super advanced society and then it sank" are the crackpots, in my world.
wise_maiden: (we've no time for silly games)

[personal profile] wise_maiden 2014-08-02 08:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Sounds a lot like they've given up. That's ridiculous.
generalflirt: Modified by <user name="saltprince"> (PM if you want me to take it down) (Eh who cares...)

[personal profile] generalflirt 2014-08-03 03:37 am (UTC)(link)
I couldn't tell you one way or the other.
wise_maiden: (waiting to change)

[personal profile] wise_maiden 2014-08-03 08:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Fair enough. At this point you aren't actually there to do something about the issue.
generalflirt: Modified by <user name="saltprince"> (PM if you want me to take it down) (Well well well)

[personal profile] generalflirt 2014-08-03 08:44 pm (UTC)(link)
And far from my place. I know my current attractive form belies this fact, but back home I am still just finishing my first year of high school.

[ To compliment the first part there, he does flex a bit though ]
wise_maiden: (thankful for small favors)

[personal profile] wise_maiden 2014-08-03 08:49 pm (UTC)(link)
All the more time to learn then. If something happens to change your point of view, that is. If not... [A shrug.] Wishful thinking, isn't it?
generalflirt: (About Time)

[personal profile] generalflirt 2014-08-03 08:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Extremely. I'll have you know, I'm not half the man I am now - or well, I won't, be, given how the time works.
wise_maiden: (but we give up easily)

[personal profile] wise_maiden 2014-08-03 09:02 pm (UTC)(link)
And does that bother you, knowing that the experiences you have here will likely not have a bearing of how you grow up there?
generalflirt: (Is sly look)

[personal profile] generalflirt 2014-08-03 09:05 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Yes. More before than now, he's accepted there's a purpose for it now, but if he thinks any more on it... yes. But this is not the time, or the place. He just grins a little, ironically ]

Ah, well, that can't be helped.
wise_maiden: (by the lives that wove the web)

[personal profile] wise_maiden 2014-08-03 09:11 pm (UTC)(link)
No, it can't. But you've done a good job building yourself here anyway, it would seem. Even knowing that something different may wait for you.
generalflirt: (One Direction)

[personal profile] generalflirt 2014-08-03 09:12 pm (UTC)(link)
And I'm sure you have as well, Raine-san. Though I don't really have much to compare it to.
wise_maiden: (by the lives that i have loved)

[personal profile] wise_maiden 2014-08-03 09:19 pm (UTC)(link)
No, I suppose not. But look, you've hardly touched your food, and I'm sure we've just missed the chance to observe a match.
