[Day 2

[As Steve led a group to scout a way into the city, Obi-Wan was bringing up the rear. It was important to keep the way clear once it had been discovered.

As soon as they're through, however, Obi-Wan immediately senses something horribly amiss. Death seems to billow out of the city like a smoking cloud of pain and suffering. The noises they'd heard all night had been horrible enough, but now, Obi-Wan almost feared to step into the city with him.

But he had to.

What he saw... it defied description. It was beyond brutality. Beyond ritual. Beyond anything he'd ever seen from the Seperatists, even Grievous or Dooku. It was a level of death that he's never seen before in his life.

He knew, because of a dimly remembered cinematic of Luke's past, that he'd feel the like again. But only once. Only on the last day of his life.

In the wake of the death he had already experienced, the thought of the death yet to come, and the thought of the last time he saw rows and lines of butchered corpses, at the hands of Anakin...

He stopped. He gasped audibly. And he fairly stumbled backwards, as if he could somehow evade the horror that was assailing his senses now.]

"What... what could have..."
