He tries desperately to hack at the thing's head with his sword, but his arm isn't totally healed and it's in a bad positive. Despite this, a combination of that and kicking allows him to pull himself out from under it!
Until it grabs hold of his tail with one of it's paws. It's unclear if that's because of planning, or chance, but Rin is terrified he won't get out and be buried for a moment until a large piece of pipe falls on top of the thing's head and makes it yelps back. He scrambles out from it and- and he's go the run-
There's too much falling (the cieling and the metal and stone and concrete and it seems to have partially collapsed some building above and there's blood and mud spilling in from the street and maybe even a few bodies too). There's nowhere to run. And what's more, it's going to crush Wanda too.
So he makes a logical choice- He makes to tackle Wanda so that it'll all fall on top of him and not her. He folds his wings tight about himself as he does this, hoping it won't crush them too ]
