Birthday Bash June 23rd | Evening

Who: Eugene, Max, and the inhabitants of House 51 and their invitees
What: A birthday party summons for Eugene and Max
When: June 23rd, evening
Where: House 51
Summary: After the events of the draft finally settling, it's time to get life back to normal.
Rating: PG-13 for drinking and swearing.

It was finally time to admit to himself that he was no longer in the club of twenty-somethings, which was a shame, really... but he wasn't going to lie to himself any longer. At least he wasn't alone, and Max could share in the not-quite-misery with him.

Something needed to unify people, something positive, and maybe this could help to begin settling nerves and getting life back to normal. So Eugene sends out a few invitations, even to the residents of his own home with a soft grin.

There were things that they could do to entertain themselves without much prep. Plenty of booze, board games, and even some baking that could be done. It didn't have to be something all-out as it was last year (no one could ever top a rave party for their birthday) but he wanted to party. So upon arrival, the smell of baking and cooking would be the first thing to greet them, before Eugene, of course.

[ooc: Anyone is in fact welcome to join in, and can consider themselves invited by people who have been invited. That is to say, this party is not exclusive to current CR, make yourselves at home]

Sunshine in a bottle, darling. I'll pour you a glass.

[He... kind of remembers where they are. If they haven't been moved since last year. But you might want to grab one for him or it could get a bit...sad.]

That does sound nice...ah- allow me! And will you join me for a drink?

[Thankfully Eugene had told her earlier about Loki's penalty when he'd first started mingling around the house. The next times his hands were free of spillable or breakable things he'll be getting a hug from her, but mead first! With one mug in hand she waits for his reply, her other hand hovering over one of their many spares.]

Of course, of course. What's the point of drinking alone?

Well said!

[Grabbing a second mug from the cupboard Sabriel goes about filling them both with a fair portion of mead. Holding out Loki's mug she taps his arm with it so he's got a point of reference to take it from.]

Here you are, and thank you for bringing it! I think...you know, I think I have tried it before when you threw that Midwinter celebration. I don't remember that night. [Wonder why, eh?]

Ah yes, there is always mead at midwinter. And at midsummer! One of the few traditions of which I heartily approve. Ceremony has a purpose, you know.

[To get totally plowed, apparently.

And he takes the first of many drinks.]

Those of us who are of age to drink have wine but otherwise the ceremonies are usually quite formal. The College usually helps organize whatever happens and all of the students' parents come to the celebrations so we don't exactly have the same opportunities to cut loose.

[Even if they were rather tame she still thinks of those memories fondly.]

You know, Midsummer and Midwinter were the only times in the year my Father could see me in person.

Those sound like terribly boring ceremonies. Unless you celebrate after.

[Bleh. Fathers.] Oh?

I wish I' been so lucky.
