The setup for the party is pretty simple. Several coolers filled with ice for drinks (soda, bottled water, juice, assorted alcohol and mixers) with cups nearby, a food table with some cookies and cake from the bakery, two sandwich platters, some salads, fresh fruit, and a veggie platter. There's a grill going for roast vegetables, hamburgers, hot dogs, steaks, and fresh seafood, often run by Ginia but anyone else who wants to watch the grill or grill their own food is welcome to do so. People are also more than welcome to bring their own food and drinks. There's driftwood set up in a small firepit for once the sun goes down.

There are a few folding chairs and blankets spread out for anyone who wants to sit down as well as a card table or two.

Relax, meet new people, enjoy the food, and watch out for ghosts or shifts that might ruin your food.

((ooc: Handwaving the IC announcement of the party. Characters can still drop by even without checking in on the post (though that would be great for stats purposes). Feel free to say your character was there for set up and later take down, it's mostly handwaved unless people want to play things out.))

/Whether I can or cannot bruise you remains to be seen. Direct combat isn't my strongest suit or style, but I have been working on that./

/I am more often engaged in attacking from the flank or the rear. Not many assassins take the front route, so it shall be excellent practice for the both of us./

/I've always preferred being in an entirely different building with a rifle or avoiding bloodshed entirely, but we don't always get what we want. The practice will be good./

/Poisons and traps were my point of trade, but the ability to take care of a mark from the next building over? Would do wonders for business in Antiva./

[Ginia huffs lightly. The 'joys' of killing at a distance.]

/If only the Crows had an excuse so encompassing as 'war' to use. For us? It was politics. And money./

/As it turns out, politics and money are the excuses for war in my world./

[Sad really. So much good technology, so many wonderful things, and everyone still found an excuse to murder each other. Not that she was any better, getting rich off her crimes and trying to claim the moral high ground.]

/I suppose from the proper angle it could have been a class war, of sorts. Different families stepping in with an attempt to rule the city./

/Everybody wants to rule the world./

[And some will go so much further to have their way.]

/Is there one city the ruler resides in that oversees a region or something else?/

/Or at least the commerce of said world. Control the trade? Control everything./

The head of each industry has a crow or two on hand more often than not to keep themselves alive, provided no one else saw fit to pay them more to kill them./

[Not too unlike her world in a lot of ways. The United States had a president, but all power was really in the cabinet and people running things below him. Whoever had the most money, the most deals and trades and hunters in their pocket ruled.]

/As different as worlds can get, some things stay sadly the same./

/At least you have guns. And from what I have read, armor that protects you from guns./

/To a degree. With armor always comes stronger weapons. And body armor won't protect you from knives or being poisoned. People profit, war continues./

/There will always be those that would employ us. The question is what do we choose to do when we are not otherwise employed?/
