[Kari's been doing some exploration by herself for a bit, since finding those rocks Rommy wanted was a bit more difficult than she thought it would be. Of course, she didn't really expect to find anyone else out here in the middle of the desert, so when she does see someone, she almost has the same thought.]

[You know, until she recognizes him. Great. Just who she wanted to see while stuck in a desert where all her supplies are in hammer-space on her non-transformed self.]



[...but she's not so heartless to just ignore the guy, so she just makes her way over.]

Oh, you're not hallucinating. I always look like this... but what the heck are you doing out here by yourself?

[He looks straight at her with a very befuddled look, as if trying to place a face.]

It's a long story... the short version's a few weird shifts happened, and then I was here? Do you have water? [He goes through all that without taking a breath.]

[Okay. Okay. She's got two options here. She can play the fool and pretend she doesn't have water and let the guy shrivel. Or she can de-transform and give him a bottle. Sure, she could try and hide it, but it's not like she's gonna find a conveniently placed phone booth to transform into around here.]

Couldn't you just poof yourself to somewhere with water?

I can only go two miles at a time, and it can still take a lot out of a guy. That and I also don't magically know where to teleport to for that water and...

[Sudden confused blinks and then he points at her.]

Hey! How do you know about the poofing?

...I keep pretty good tabs on the people in the village. And it's not like that's some super common ability to have, you know?

Come on, let's find you a cactus or something. You can probably get some water from there.

[Since, by all appearances, she doesn't look like she has any supplies on her at all.]

Oookayyyy... [He raises an eyebrow. Stalker much? Then again, he's admittedly not so good at being covert with his powers.]

A cactus. Right. Does that really have water or is that just from tv?

Of course it does! How do you think a cactus would even survive in a desert if it didn't have some way of storing water when it's dry?

[Don't drink the cactus juice Kurt...!!]

[But thankfully (?) there don't seem to be any cacti in the vicinity. Nothing but sand and rock and some more sand. Uhh... huh...]

How should I know? I'm not a botanist... Maybe they had some kind of mutation! [He looks around as far as he can, and doesn't see any indeed.]

You don't happen to have directions to the nearest cactus due you? Make a right at the next set of animal bones?

...well, no. I mean, I didn't exactly plan to run into someone out here who was unprepared for wandering around a desert.

Well... I... I didn't expect to be wandering around a desert!

...Wait, but does that mean you are prepared?

Of course I am! I'm not exactly dressed like this for shits and giggles, you know. I'm a magical girl. I've got my magic protecting me out here.

A... magical girl? [All the eyebrow-raising.] I don't see any pointy hat or broomstick.

That's because I said magical girl not witch! Think, like, Sailor Moon or Cutie Honey. You know, cute little Japanese girls who say some magic words and transform into busty battling babes to kick ass and take names.

[Except maybe not so much in the busty department for Kari.]

Ohhh... Like Sailor Moon! [He points as if the memory just came to him.] I- I think I caught that one a few times. So you're sure you don't have some kind of... water-fetching magic in there? [He wipes some sweat from his brow while smiling sheepishly.]

[Like Sailor Moon, huh? She's pretty sure Sailor Moon wouldn't let an innocent stranger suffer in a hot desert just to protect her identity.]

[It's not like Kari's been much of a hero in the place to begin with, anyway.]

...actually. You know what? Hold on for a second, I can get you some water. Just... try not to freak out, okay?

Why would I freak out? It's not gonna come from a toilet or something, is it?

[Wow she is not even dignifying that with a response!!]

[Instead she takes a step back and runs her hand over the pendent on her chest. It flashes brightly with a rainbow light, which then appears to shatter in the air in a burst of sparkles...!]

[magicalesbian]

[--a familiar burst of sparkles, probably. And then one standing there when the sparkles fade should also be rather familiar to Kurt. And unlike when she was standing in front of him as Hoshikyo, she's pretty well equipped with a large backpack, canteen, and other miscellaneous supplies scattered around her person.]

[...of course, this is also the first time she's de-transformed to get supplies since she went off on her own, and all that walking and hiking is catching up with her pretty much instantly. So she also staggers a bit and falls to her knees when she's suddenly met with all that added weight.]

...h-hey.

[So much familiarity, he's stunned for a moment. But then as she staggers, as tired as he is, he quickly leans over to try to catch/support her.]

Kari? [He manages to free a finger to point inches from his nose, with an 'I told you so' tone.] I knew it!

[His help is appreciated, but she's not going to give any indication that she's grateful for it. Sorry, Kurt.]

Oh, shut up. You didn't know anything until two seconds ago. [HUFF. She settles down on her knees in the sand and takes off her backpack, rustling through it for a second before pulling out a water bottle and offering it up to him. It should still feel cold.]

[wildbluevagner]

No- I mean... before! Back at the village, I totally saw you do your sparkly magic! [But his face brightens up as he grabs the water bottle, clasping it for a moment as he looks at her.] Thank you so much!

[Now he is chugging it down...]

Maybe. But that doesn't mean you knew what you saw. [She is going to stick by this forever ok ok.]

And I know it probably goes without saying, but I'm going to say it anyway: you tell anyone about this, and I'm going to have to kick your ass. I may look all pink and sparkly, but I'm still pretty strong even without magic.

[He makes a refreshed sigh as he finishes the bottle, but he waves his hands defensively at her.]

Hey, hey, calm down! You'd have to catch me first... Kidding! I'm not about to go find the local tabloids or anything. Your secret's safe with me... uh... Sailor Sparkles.
