Huh! Why didn't I think of that? Sure beats having to make a torch...

[He rubs his chin, eying the stones, and looks to his Keyblade.]

Wonder what'd happen if you combined 'em with light magic. You think the spirits can reach all the way out here?

[He never dabbled too deeply with them before, mostly because he had his own magic. The finer nuances are kinda lost on him.]

[ At the mention of "spirits" the nomads immediately seem more wary. They glance at each other, and then ask Ven, carefully, which one he means. There's a clear hesitance - perhaps even fear - in how they are asking. This, in turn, makes Masaomi glance back at them. That reaction to spirits...? ]

Uh...

[His brows furrow, and he scratches the side of his head. Man, what was its name again? Hrmm...]

Maybe the light one? Hyt? I think that's his name, anyway.

[generalflirt]

Yeah, that's the name, but, what's the problem-

[ And one of them goes on to explain about how there are many spirits, and while some just are tricky, others can be malicious - there are ones that rot plants in their jungles, and others that scotch the Earth or make the days hotter. and that's interesting ]

[Ven's eyes blink wide open at the news, and a frown lines his lips. He opens his mouth to speak a few times, but stops as the nomads continue their explanation.

By the time they're done, his gaze drops to the ground, and he rubs the back of his neck.]

Sheesh, I had no idea the spirits were so dangerous! But isn't there some way to reason with 'em?

[generalflirt]

[ They look at each other and then they say that the large winged tribe in the area has special shamans who can talk with some of them, but not all. But Masaomi picks up at that- ]

Did you say Shamans?

[risingwinds]

It sure sounds like it. But big wings... D'you think they've got anything to do with, well... cultists?

[They're before all that sacrifice stuff happened, right? But that doesn't mean some form of cult doesn't exist somewhere.

Whatever they are, it's certainly gotten Ven's attention.]

Maybe, but- [

What? Why would anyone sacrifice anyone? We don't want any part of that, and neither do they. ]

[risingwinds]

W-wait! That's no what--

[He shakes his head, waving his hands. Ack, this isn't going the way he had hoped.]

I mean, I was just wondering if those shamans are related. But I'm glad they're not! Nobody should have to be sacrificed for anyone!

[generalflirt]

So that's alien to here...

[ No one does that here. We hear some sort of rumors from the other continent, but ]

[WHEW. Well, that's a relief. Ven wouldn't wish that kinda fate on anyone.]

Still, the fact that it's even happening's really sad. I hope you guys never have to deal with it. Or fight any wars...

[Ven never did like wars, and he's always been thrown straight into 'em.]

Actually, that's a good question, is there war here-

[ No, we usually keep away from the large winged tribes. There's been fighting, but not prolonged. ]

[risingwinds]

Good.

[He cracks a weak smile, feeling a hefty weight lifted off his shoulders.]

Well, whatever happens, we'll do our best not to let that war reach you guys. I dunno if it'll be easy, but there's gotta be a way to make things better for everyone.

[generalflirt]

Look at hero-boy here, making promises.

[ And he might just nudge Ven in the side here, smirking. Because really that... was a line he wishes he could make himself ]

[risingwinds]

I wouldn't do it if I didn't think it was possible. But the way I see it, we were sent back here for a reason.

[So he gives a small shrug, not too bothered by the teasing.]

Yeah, you got me there. [ Nod. Well, whatever. He pats Ven's back a few more times before going back to take up a seat near the fire, yawning ]
