Did Chili remember what Cilan had said to him before last time he was here? Cilan was used to having to deal with people leaving this place. There wasn't anything Chili could have done to stop that from happening, and it had been for the best.
It didn't change the fact that it was lonely, though.

From this proximity, Chili might even be able to notice that Cilan has some fading, but still noticeable dark circles around his eyes, an indication that he hasn't been sleeping very well in this place. Maybe even a little paler than normal, but his recent outing with Ash outside of the barrier did sort of help restore a little more color. He hasn't had one of those nightmares in sometime, but it will probably still be a little while before the circles, the lingering effects of it completely fade.
