Summary: The weather takes a turn for the worse as freezing rain comes down across the village. Don't slip and fall!

Rain begins falling early morning on the 22nd. By 9 AM, there's a good layer of ice as it continues to rain on and off throughout the next two days, sometimes drizzling, sometimes coming down hard for a few minutes. By the evening of the 23rd, it stops raining. Ice buildup is between one and two inches (2.54 cm to 5.08 cm), enough to put some strain on trees, break some branches, and even knock out electricity in some areas despite the lack of any visible powerlines.

[Okay so Rin has been making a habit of going to Seventh Heaven for his job, of course, but in the last few days (this) he's also gone down to John's barrier in the tunnels and beat on it knocking. The first day was just knocking and shouting, the second day saw him trying to rip it open (though curiously, when he tries to assume his demon form in the tunnels, it fails. He later looked up this is a result of the power dampening) and the 22nd is no exception, so there's wails of "open up you recluse bastard!" and other such things as he tries to get a grip on the barrier to rip through it like he did with Bon back home.

Well, it doesn't work. Or well, it does, but in a weird way. On the 22nd, a droid comes out past the barrier as he's pounding. Rin makes ready to fight it, but before he strikes it he sees it has a post-it note on its face. He goes to read it:

GO AWAY ME BUSY

Confused a moment, the droid then sucker punched him before retreating back behind the barrier before he could retaliate. There's a lot more shouting and screaming there for maybe a half out afterwards and then he tries to go home, the post it note shoved in his pocket and muttering darkly.

...the thing is, as he comes up the stairs out of the tunnel, it's already raining and icy and looks like some Ice Hell outside. he blinks, and slips a few times before there's a roar of frustration ahd he draws his Koma Sword. This causes him to assume his demon form. He spews blue flames in all directions the rest of his way back, which not only melts the ice below his feet and illuminates the general area, but it also straight up causes the rain to start to evaporate before it gets too close to him.

He's willing to help people he comes across, or maybe you just take note of this bright light as he makes his way back]

[Wow dude you're on fire, might want to get that checked or something.

Staring from behind one of the trees he was clearing of ice, Caius is watching carefully. Also holy hell blue flames he doesn't want to be anywhere near those. If it's causing water to evaporate before it even gets near him then eff he doesn't want to be anywhere near that, fur isn't a good defense against fire anyway.

He sort of wants to approach this guy despite the fire and crazy appearance because he would be pretty handy for clearing ice, but how do you go about getting the attention of a flaming demon...]

[He also has a flaming sword in his hand. Cool huh? But he turns, following that sound-]

Huh, what's that?!

[Sup it's a wolf thing. You sound sort of familiar but wow okay you're still on fire, and flaming sword and what.

Pointing up at the tree he's hiding behind.]

Mind melting some of this stuff? As long as you don't burn any trees down then it would be a big help.

[Buuut if he ends up burning a tree, whoops, that's what the tree gets for assaulting him with a branch covered in ice.]

Why the tree? And who are you?

[Because this tree was a dick and totally dropped a branch on him.]

If you get rid of the ice on it then less people will get smacked around by stuff falling out of it. It's not like you have to do much other than stand next to the tree with the way you are. [...] Caius.

[Welp that's not a positive reaction, backing off behind the tree and reverting back into a human with a quick flash of light.]

I could ask you the same thing, how're you doing that?! The fire and- and everything!!

[Not comimgn back out, just staying behind this tree. Yup.]

Wait, that's Rin isn't it?!

[He's slow, but he recognised the voice at last.]

...Huh, yeah- it's me.

[Fair enough. He's on fire with long ears and fangs and all that. His tail's got a fire...stick thing on the end of it now too]

Since when are you a wolf-thing?

[There's no real word to describe what he thinks Rin is past 'monster' and that's just harsh.]

A few... months. [Sorta. It's complicated. But he sighs, puffing out some steam. But now he's going to advance on the tree now] Sorta.

Really? Only that long... [Makes him wonder how you just get that sort of power or whatever.

Stepping away and moving off towards another tree, he's not too fond of getting burnt or anything.] ...What's it like being like that?

Well actually, you feel really powerful. [When you're not losing control. then it's scary. He laughs at this, actually, passing it off as being totally cool.]

Heh, I feel the same way when I transform. Really strong! [Except for when he goes batshit and can't control himself, that kind of sucks.] Make sure you get all the ice, I should be able to kick the tree without any branches falling down if you get it all.

When did I even say I was doing it?! [But fine, whatever. He groans and then narrows his eyes at the tree. Okay. Focus... like with the candles...

Unfortunately, he is doing this in his demon form.

You were the one who came closer, I just assumed! [So get to firing or whatever it is you do man.

...Wait no that's complete overkill. At least the ice will be gone.]

Whoah, too much!! You can put it out right?! [Maybe he should go get some water...]

Why would I put it ou- Oh! Oh shit-!

[FUUUUH he can't doesn't know how to put it out. He does know he can make it not burn things but he hasn't controlled it yet actually.]

[Backing even further off and watching the tree burn for a moment or two.]

...Should probably do something about this.

[Except he has no idea where to get water from. Or anything that could put fires out. Can't even throw dirt on the flames because of the ice. Sure there's no ice around Rin but then he's on fire and why is everything either covered in ice or on fire ffs.]

[SOLUTION: Switch back into a Leymon and flick dirt on the tree from where Rin is standing because singed fur is better than singed skin. This seems like the best idea or something. STUFF IS ON FIRE NO TIME FOR GOOD PLANS.

So he runs over and starts throwing dirt at the tree... Is this even working :V]

Maybe I ought to cut it down?! [No, that would just spread it. Okay, no, he tries to concentrating here, kill the flames like that. Breath in and out. The dirt is doing something, but this tree is more than probably a goner. At least it's preventing it from spreading]

Do whatever, just put it out somehow!! [There's a pretty impressive hole forming from all the dirt that's being dug up and thrown at the flames. It gets pretty obvious after a minute or two that the dirt shower isn't doing that much and that saving the tree is a lost cause.

The flames don't seem to be jumping to any other trees or anything right now so Caius stop to catch his breath.] Damn. Looks like there's nothing we can do.

Shut up, I'm focusing!

[Okay flames... I know you got the tree, but don't burn the grass. Don't burn this guy. Don't burn anything else. He sighs, keeping up his concentration, and when he opens his eyes...

The whole tree is reduced to ash, but the flames burn themselves out]

[Well fine, shutting up. Or at least until the flames have died out anyway, after which he just stares at the pile of ash. Alas poor tree.]

...What did you do? [Did he even do anything?! It was totally his dirt that helped dim the flames and everything. Rin just 'focused'! Pfft.]

Holy shit... I did it.

...Hahahaha! Look! [Racing over to clap the guy on the shoulder] Look, look, I did it!
