[Throughout the entire week Beast has found himself (unknowingly on the first day) having a bit of a problem with his journal. Voice posts are particularly an issue since most of his words end up sounding... animalistic. Not in the beastly way but in the zoological way. In other words, you will be hearing Beast make sounds that usually never come out of his mouth. His vocal chords make it physically impossible to make some of these sounds, but the journal doesn't care, it will happen anyway.

Well... except on one day...]

[Day 4]

[Beast doesn't need to make animal sounds over the journals because now it's going to happen for real. Why? It may have something to do with him now bearing a long turquoise dragon's tail instead of a wolf's... and his fangs being replaced with beaver-like buck teeth. He would have something to say about it if not for the fact that his voice coincides with whatever body part most recently changed... oh and it doesn't help that none of them stay the same for too long. Oh mon Dieu, it's like learning how to walk all over again...]

[Or you could contact Beast on the rest of the days in person or over the journals and ask him about those damn trees and their rumours. Or you could, by ridiculous chance, confront him on Day 4. Good luck with that.]

[Why hello there Beast, Sabriel has been having a bit of an issue with new and strange animal body parts as well. Seated with a frustrated huff sideways along the trunk of a tree she spots him passing by.

Yikes, the Malnosso sure had a cruel sense of humour, making him all sorts of animal like that...]

It's frustrating, isn't it?

[Grr, this stupid tail makes it hard to walk... why does it have to be so long? And it's spiky and scaley and... he never thought he would miss the fluffy one.

But when he hears the girl talk, he actually notices her - pff, she's lucky compared to him. He's thinking that if she hadn't have said anything he wouldn't even had noticed that she wasn't normal at all. And with that he huffs and replies with a slight growl... though the bucked teeth don't make it very easy to do so.]

Obviousthly.

[There's no need to be cross with her, mister. She's not making fun of you or trying to laugh...although he is quite an odd sight at this point.]

What did they do to you?

[Because right now it's hard to tell exactly.]

[He thought that was obvious, too, since she seems to be in the same position. But maybe that's judging... why is it hard to explain?

But before he can answer, the Malnosso do their work again and his buck teeth are suddenly replaced with the beak of a toucan. Instead of what he really wanted to say, his voice only lets out a noise matching the new part.]

...Oh dear. Now that is just cruel.

[How the Malnosso thought up such an odd and unfortunate Shift to fall on someone, she has no idea.]

[Sigh, what timing.] I know.

[Obi-Wan is not terribly bothered when he walks through a door and emerges on the ceiling of Beast's house, taking the short drop to the floor fairly well and continuing as if it hadn't really bothered him.

He even give a friendly, passing nod to Beast as he passed.

And then Beast sprouts a long, grey, wrinkled appendage in place of his nose.]

"... Oh, dear."

[It's day 4, Beast is already aware of the absurd things that are going on right now, but it is still really strange to have someone trespass into your house by accident. Especially when they come from the ceiling... why is his door touching the ceiling anyway? And he doesn't look his best right now at all so all he can give Obi-Wan is an awkward look and a nod back with a flop of his nose... wait a minute.

Noses... are not supposed to flop.

He crosses his eyes to look and he does not like what he sees.

He shrinks a little. He feels so undignified.]

"... How, ah, how long has this been...?"

[He hesitates, eyes moving back to that horrible thing on his face and gulps. He doesn't know if what he wants to say will come out.

Alright... he's going to try and say, "This morning." Maybe he should try slowly, just in case.

Alright... here he goes.]

... This... this...

...

... This- [But he fails to finish. What instead comes out is a roar very unlike his own.]
