[She looks up at him, concerned.]

Was that the one that you heard that made you - so upset?

[He hesitated for a moment, looking down. There were many upsetting ones. But in the aftermath of the hat, most of them were still fluttering vaguely about in his head. But there was one at the core, one that seemed very concrete, real and scary. He was afraid of whispering it to Katara.]

It's about Korra.

[Oh dear.]

...okay?

It said that... it was saying if she ever lost her bending... [His voice trailed off as his eyes began watering. With Korra in the Malnosso's hands, it had hit even harder.]

[She reaches over to take one of his hands.]

What is it?

[He briefly raised his eyes to hers and then looked down at his hands.]

...that- that she'd- [He felt like he was choking on the words and forced them out in a particularly raspy voice.] she'd end herself.

Maybe it was lying, but... I'm worried. She's... she's still gone.

[Oh, Aang.]

Sometimes... people are just gone for a long time, Aang. That's all.

Y-yeah. She's probably still kidnapped, but... But what if they take her bending?

Then, eventually, she'll get it back. The things they do to us don't last. I don't know Korra very well, but I'd like to believe she's stronger than that. You should believe it too.

[She squeezes his hand lightly.]

And don't worry about what could happen. If it does happen, then we'll deal with it. She won't be alone.

[He pauses and gives a light smile before he answers.]

She... she is strong. Stronger than me. I'm not sure if she knows how strong she is. But... that makes me feel a little better. If things do come to that... maybe we can help her.

[Katara rolls her eyes, and tugs on his hand insistently.

Pay attention.]

Don't compare yourself. There's all kinds of strength, but I don't know anyone stronger than you. Believe in both of you, and what you know to be true. Not in some horrible whispers you heard from the trees.

[His smile becomes a bit warmer.]

You're right, Katara. [She... she believes in me. It's not like with Toph..] I'm strong, she's strong, you're strong. I'm gonna keep believing in all of us. And we're gonna keep making it in this place.

[markofthebrave]

[She squeezes his hand one more time and then lets it go.]

Absolutely, we will.

[savedtheworld]

[He looks at her, silently thanking her with his eyes. And then he turns to walk towards the kitchen with a smile.]

There's only one thing left to take care of then.

[He pops open the freezer.]

I could go for that ice cream party right about now.

[Oh, pff.

She laughs a little before suggesting:]

...maybe you should start out with some toast?

[He chuckles back as he leans on the fridge.]

At this point, anything that's not tea would be good. [A thoughtful pause, as if he deliberates this next point.] ...Except sea prunes.
