Who: Helios and pretty much everyone who replied to this post
What: The demon god Apep which affixed itself to Helios’ soul has awoken.
When: August 6th-9th
Where: Starting around house 44 then mainly around town and the woods
Summary: Basically Helios gets possessed and causes all sorts of chaos and destruction that the evil god, Apep, is known for causing!
Rating: R for lots of violence

[ It’s strange how the twist of events of a simple evening walk could change much of everything. In an instant, that was Luceti’s way of things, changing things in an instant. And Helios never even saw it coming. There were still parts of that night and parts of his soul that he never truly understood. But there were always ways of finding out. They say hands on experience is one of the best ways of learning. And this is a lesson he and several others won't soon forget. ]

Songbird--I got some intel, but it makes no sense to me. It might be useful to you if you can understand it.

What is it, Little Fox?

[Saori has spent the day in meditation, preparing for hunting Apep that night. Her voice is a little distracted, but otherwise she sounds intent and prepared.]

[Who isn't distracted or more at this point?]

Some ancient priests made a list of ways to defeat Apep--some of them sound kind of standard, like taking a knife or a lance to him or setting him on fire. Others just sound odd, like spitting on him or..and I quote: 'Defiling with the Left Foot.'

The only one that made any kind of sense was fettering, or binding him somehow. Don't know if that's physically holding him down with ropes or cuffs though.

Defiling with the left foot? I wonder...does that mean I should kick him with my left foot? I would rather not use fire, or a lance. And a knife too. Helios is still there, I would not wish to break him more than is necessary.

[The other means, however, draw a faint smile]

Fettering you say? In the traditional sense, that would mean chains and ropes, not handcuffs. At least, that's my experience. And...I can certainly spit on him.

I know I kicked him with mine--he dodged it. I also tripped him up with my left leg. But...yeah. I know. I didn't think they would be seriously used, unless you had another idea. I remember something about using effigies...

No matter. [He sighed heavily, his weariness catching up with him.]

I only thought about the cuffs because a friend of mine has a pair that's stronger than diamond, but if you think that chains and rope will be better than go for it. At least that will give you ample opportunity to spit on him.

Did you really? That's...interesting. When I struck him on the left side, he seemed weakened. Almost like it hurt him more.

[Her voice is perplexed]

That is a most strange thing to have for a bane. Where can I acquire several feet of chain and rope?

Maybe that's because I'm just a regular guy that he had pinned to the wall?

[He's speaking in a terribly casual tone, but it belays the tension underneath. He thoughtlessly held his injured arm as he spoke, as if to guard his wounds.]

You should be able to acquire the materials in the shops at the plaza. Considering who we're dealing with, do you think that they need to be consecrated or blessed in any way?

I...don't know how to consecrate or bless things against Egyptian gods, Little Fox. Can you find that out?

[She sounds...genuinely perplexed. Foreign pantheons aren't her deal]

[There was a subtle clack on the wood as Lupin set his glasses aside, and the others in the room would notice that his dark eyes were lose somewhere deep in his thoughts. He doesn't need to look up the information--its there, and he can't say why.]

Light a flame with the intent to purify dark influences in a circular basin--it doesn't need to be big. Loop the rope in a circle around the flame, and let the flame die on its own accord. The smoke will permeate the material, and that should work. Mostly.

Is that all? Sounds simple enough.

[Her voice subtly changes]

Little Fox, you are working yourself to death. You need to rest.

...I know.

[No games now. None.] I was thinking that myself. I don't want to go back to 46 right yet, and it seems like a bad time to get my other contacts involved with this. They might really hurt Helios.

Then you will sleep in House 53.

Apep will not dare to attack my home. Doing so would be most foolish, and he knows it.

[Normally he'd argue at such a tone--but not then. He was too worn down.]

...All right, that sounds good. [Another weary sigh as he considers the logistics again. The library was in the plaza, but House 53 was down by Community House 5. A decent walk under normal circumstances.]

I'm gonna need an assist, Songbird. [A heavy beat.] I'm not sure I can make it there right now.

[As if a god would listen to protests from a foolish man]

That isn't a problem, Lupin. I am already on my way to the library.
