Pinkie's New Feather Party: The Masquerade Ball!

The night is finally here! Pinkie Pie and friends have been working hard to get everything absolutely perfect. The Battle Dome has been done up to look like a grand ballroom, complete with dance hall and dining area. A small, but elegantly decorated stage is situated in the middle of the dance hall, and is equipped with microphones and speakers for anyone willing to perform. Otherwise, the dome is set up to play songs on request.

The dining area is equipped with a buffet-style dinner selection, filled with food contributed by various donators, highlighted by a large cake at the central table, which is then surrounded by smaller tarts, pies and pastries. Wine, champagne, and other choice drinks are available from ice chests near the buffet line.

Finally, since it was so popular with the last party, the night will be ended with a fireworks display over the dome. Afterwards, Pinkie Pie will be going around making sure everyone gets home safely, before returning to the dome to start cleaning up.

Note: Like Pinkie's last party, this one has a theme: a Masquerade Ball. Everyone who enters must wear a mask, and keep it on for the entirety of the party. If you haven't picked one out yourself, Pinkie would be more than happy to provide one for you.

Aunt Toph! [ Ikki has probably already complimented Toph on her dress and hair. Multiple times. And made her an honorary princess of the cat kingdom. All on the way over here, you know. ]

Aunt Tophhhh, d'you wanna dance? [ yes she's asking everyone who appears to be allergic to the dance floor isn't that the logical way to find dance partners ]

[metalbends]

[Ugh. No. She doesn't really want to. But how is she supposed to say no to Ikki, of all people?

Maybe she can stall.]

Dance? What about the buffet? Maybe we should head over there!

[breezing]

I can only have a feeeeeeeeeeew more snacks! [ That's definitely not a no, though. ] 'Cause of rules!

[metalbends]

You know, it's getting pretty late. And rules stop being rules after a certain time of night. Did you know that?

[breezing]

[ Toph and Sokka are the most corrupting influences when it comes to sweers ]

Reaaaaaaally?!

[metalbends]

Yeah! Definitely. And I bet it's late enough now. We can have everything we want!

[breezing]

So I can have another piece of cake?!

[metalbends]

Yeah, of course! You can have another, and another, and another!

[breezing]

[ this sounds like something Toph is going to hear about later ]

How many have you had, Aunt Toph? Let's go get some! [ successfully derailed for the time being by the siren call of sweets, Ikki tugs on Toph's sleeve, this time with a different destination in mind. Toph is still taller than Ikki, which means she can reach more of the good stuff on the table! ]

[metalbends]

[She follows alongside Ikki, grinning all the way. Katara would give her flack about this, wouldn't she? OH WELL.]

I've had...three, I think? How about you?

[breezing]

Just one so far! [ "so far" is said with a significant amount of energy and hope, because hey, she thought the cap was one! ]

[metalbends]

We'd better get you some more, then!

[And here's the table!]

I like the chocolate kind the most.

[breezing]

Me too!!!!! That's the best kind! Especially when it has chocolate frosting too!

[metalbends]

Yeah, totally! [Except she, uh, may need a hand actually picking out the chocolate cake.]

[breezing]

[ Ikki leans up onto the table, half hoisting herself up to see better, and spots it pretty quickly. It's juuuuust out of her reach, the sneaky thing. Although she doesn't totally understand Toph's seeing-by-bending thing (it's been explained, but) she knows that if she points at something, Toph can "see" her pointing, even if she can't see what she's pointing at.

So she'll just explain that part. ] It's right there next to the strawberry tarts, but I can't reach it!

[metalbends]

[Toph grins, nodding and reaching for two pieces of chocolate cake.]

Two pieces of chocolate cake, coming right up!

[breezing]

I love special nights!!

[metalbends]

Yeah, I guess this isn't so bad. [She holds Ikki's piece out for her before taking a massive forkful out of her own.]

[breezing]

Soooooo you're happy you came now? [ Ikki takes the offered cake - when would she ever NOT - and happily starts digging in herself. ]

[metalbends]

I didn't say that! But it's not totally bad.

[breezing]

Of course not! You're here and I'm here and Uncle Sokka's here and grandpa's here and Katara's here and Bolin's here... [ SHE COULD GO ON. BUT. ] So of course it's a good party!

[metalbends]

Just don't get used to it. Parties like this, I mean. This is the first fancy party I've been to since I got here.

[breezing]

'Cause you don't like them or 'cause it's the first one?

[metalbends]

Both!

[breezing]

That's okay. I've only been to one other fancy party before this, an' anyway, it's fun 'cause everyone is here! There'll be other things to do, right?
