Summary: After revealing a new section of the tunnels, the people of Luceti have the freedom to slip in and see what secrets await them.

This is an open log for anyone who would like to thread out checking the tunnels out, observe the wall of memoirs, or just generally poke around at things.

[This was not the type of secret tunnel Aang would want to sing about. Even though he knew that within the tunnels, it would be as if that Amon guy had gotten to him, he thought it was important that he had to see this for himself. If he was ever going to make a difference in this place, he had to.

So he trudged on, bitterly recalling his first encounter with a shifter and wondering if his breathing had always felt so shallow. Once in the area, he did his best to check around for anything. Even without his bending, he could still be found rubbing feeling along the walls to try to determine whether or not they would be bendable simply through guesswork. Or he could be found reading the wall of memoirs with an escalating sense of escalation, until he finds himself sinking to his knees in a mix of despair and frustration.

Or he could be found at some point later on, examining the sealed door.]

Maybe the answer's easier than any of us thought.

[He steps up to the door and... tries to knock on it.]

Anybody there?

No luck, huh?

[He waited just a moment more, then turned to face Katara and shook his head.]

Nobody's home.

It was worth a shot anyway, right?

Yeah.... If it was the way, we'd only be able to find out by trying it, right?

Right. [A small smile.] How are you doing down here?

[savedtheworld]

[His smile fades slightly.]

Just... just trying to take it all in.

[markofthebrave]

Yeah. I know what you mean.

[savedtheworld]

Those messages that were on that one wall... It's hard to make sense of them. But they remind me how little I really know about this place.

[markofthebrave]

I think that's true for all of us. It's scary to think that this place was used as an enclosure long before even the first of us got here.

Yeah. [He bows his head slightly.] There has to be a way to help this place. I thought going home was the best we could hope for, here, but now... I don't think it'd be right as the Avatar to leave this world the way it is.

What do you mean, Aang?

If it keeps taking people like this... and this war keeps on going on... then it'll be like an endless cycle. Even if we get home and never come here again, others could be stuck here. [Like the various friends they've met here. Like Shikamaru and Nami and Winry and Masaomi.] There's gotta be a way to stop this for good a- and save this world.

[Katara smiles a little, because it's been a long, long time since she's thought of something like that. And it rings through her like something true, something right, and though she can't quite completely believe it... she can hope.]

I think that's true, Aang - at least I hope it is. It's definitely something to work towards.

[He looks at her with a smile, feeling validated in a way. Like his hope wasn't so foolish.]

I'm glad you agree, Katara. When it comes to saving worlds, I don't think I can get that far without you.
