DRAFT - The Battle of Vaskoth

On the 25th, Lucetians are ushered in to join an already growing army to repel the Cultists.

On the 26th, strange symptoms are reported. The first Runners appear and by nightfall, the hospital is lost.

On the 27th, the cultist horde is completely lost to the virus. They send no more reinforcements.

On the 28th, the situation is grim and an evacuation is called. But the battle is not over.

Notes: There will be two NPC threads. One for Specialist Davis and another for Carol.

Day One

[Vash was usually a target for Moro to chase. Once out of hatred, and then out of play and mockery.

This time, when she catches his scent and charges his direction, she chooses to leap over him. He's not in a particularly sticky situation, with only a few pursuers he had likely been trying to talk out of violence, but she may as well take out any opposition she can. In that leap she snarls, landing on the enemy soldiers and crushing them under her weight and might. They scatter, briefly, and Moro stops to check on Vash, turning her gaze on him.]

You are slow and small!

Day One

[There is little Vash can do as the large wolf god suddenly sails over his head. His stomach drops as she lands on some of the soldiers and the rest scatter.]

You didn't have to kill them. I could have outrun them.

[biteoffherhead]

You are weak. And selfish! Just like any human.

[Moro snarls, shaking off a small wound from one of their weapons.]

If they live, perhaps you will escape, but others will die. When you fight, you must fight as a pack.

I won't allow them to hurt others, but there must be a better way then to go about killing each other!

[biteoffherhead]

You will fail. Without question.

Without question? You don't know that. There are other options than killing.

[biteoffherhead]

Then your actions will get another killed.

[goldenglasses]

No, all we have to do is stopped them. Breaking a leg or tying them down. It will stop them from attacking others without having to kill them.

[biteoffherhead]

It takes too much time to be so gentle.

[Moro could just trample them, but most of the time she breaks their spines or necks. She really is meant for the killing blow.]

[goldenglasses]

N-not that much more, and I'm sure you'll get a lot more thanks if you did. [Not that Vash typically gets any.]

So you would rather I break their spines and bite off their legs? Rip them into pieces, and let them suffer on that way?

You are truly more cruel than even I can imagine.

NO! NO! NO! NO! I didn't mean it like that! More just, you know, break their legs or something. Not their spines or the ripping...

[biteoffherhead]

That requires me to stop and be cautious. Do you see these gouges in my throat? I survive because I am so swift to keep them from landing a solid strike.

M-maybe if you were cautious then... maybe it will extend to your personal safety too?

[biteoffherhead]

I will show no mercy to these insignificant beasts.

[goldenglasses]

But you hardly even know them! What if they're actually not so bad? You know... like the people in Luceti?

[biteoffherhead]

[Moro snaps her jaws at Vash, snarling loudly.



Apparently she's not too keen on that idea.]

[goldenglasses]

[Vash jumps back away from those jaws, unsure if he over spoke and she was really going to attempt to eat him once more.] Well... you never know until you get to know someone is all.

[biteoffherhead]

You were not worth saving!

[She growls, turning away from him.]

Eh!? You don't really mean that do you!? I thought we were doing so much better at getting along!

[biteoffherhead]

You learn nothing! You turn a deaf ear to my words. Yet you fight in battle as though you belong!

[goldenglasses]

I hear what you're saying! I really do! It's just... don't you think it would be better if we could all go home and live happily instead of all this killing?

[biteoffherhead]

You forget where you are and what you are living through!

[goldenglasses]

No, I will never be able to forget this place and all those who have died her already. All I want is to try to make this a little better a memory to live through.
