DRAFT - The Battle of Vaskoth

On the 25th, Lucetians are ushered in to join an already growing army to repel the Cultists.

On the 26th, strange symptoms are reported. The first Runners appear and by nightfall, the hospital is lost.

On the 27th, the cultist horde is completely lost to the virus. They send no more reinforcements.

On the 28th, the situation is grim and an evacuation is called. But the battle is not over.

Notes: There will be two NPC threads. One for Specialist Davis and another for Carol.

[Given the circumstances, there was no way Ven would miss out on an opportunity like this. If there was even a chance they could uncover answers about this whole mess, how could they pass it up?

So, needless to say, he's more than happy to tag along, clad in armor, as he's been the past few days. Unfortunately, after all the fighting, it's got its share of stains. Chances are, if they get caught up in another fight, it'll get even worse.

His movements are a bit sluggish, but he's trying hard to conceal them. Gotta stay alert at a time like this.]

So, you think they'll hear us out?

[There was a lot of resentment when all the refugees came in, after all. Who's to say they'd want to share answers?

Then again, they're all in a huge mess as it is.]

Depends who we run into. But they're way more reasonable than anyone cared to admit.

[He says this grimly. They're setting out: the two of them and three other men around their same age: Mark Rioteer, a twenty year old ginger and green eyed Vietnam war veteran with some sort of rifle over his shoulder, Harry Tudson, an 18 year old blonde hair, blue eyed esper who has a sword at his side but also some sort of small arms pistol - both from Excenn - and rounding them off Anthony Mallard, a quiet nineteen year old veteran of the American Revolution from Zompania. He's go and officer's sword and a (mercifully modern, though he still doesn't totally trust it) rifle.

Masaomi's clearly the leader, despite the spread of ages and them all having the guns. The two Excenn people are eager to be under the command of a Lucetian and Anthony? Well, he's a follower. Masaomi and Ven, as melee fighters, are at point in the lead]

Yeah. I still can't believe how many people treated 'em like enemies. Pointing fingers never gets anything done!

[But, that's in the past. All they can do, really, is stay on guard and hope for the best. While Ven isn't all too familiar with the others in their group, he's more than willing to work with them and remain on friendly terms. Chances are, they've got just as much-- if not more-- experience than him and Masaomi. Always a plus during a zombie apocalypse.]

I can see why some of 'em might... [He sighs a little thought. He glances back at the guys. Mark doesn't look at him, but the esper mock-salutes. He grins and glances back a Ven]

Eyes peeled though.

[Briefly, Ven returns the grin, but soon he shifts his attention back to their surroundings, glancing left and ride.]

Right... There's no telling who or what we'll bump into.

[Well, besides zombies. Possibly shift hunters.]

Yeah. Maybe Vaskoth has a resident Moro.

[With a little weary eyeroll. ...But he's also serious. That would suck]

Well, if it does, I think we could handle 'em!

[Granted, he'd rather not have to deal with a giant monster god at a time like this.]

Speak for yourself, man! [...Which makes the three guys back there start to talk amongst themselves. ...That was dumb on his part. Oh well]

Aw, c'mon. I'm just trying to stay positive, you know.

[Because it helps when there are zombies on the loose, okay.]

I'm not magic man, we run into an infected Elite and we're boned. Unless you got that.
