Fare thee well, spring break.

Who: SCHOOL PEOPLE and all interested parties! Students, tutors, teachers, and anyone who wants to poke their head in.
What: SCHOOL.
When: SCHOOL... from Monday, April 15th to Thursday the 18th, 9:00-2:30 every day.
Where: SCHOOL.
Summary: SCHOOL re-opens following the impromptu break caused by the TERRACE draft.
Rating: A+

[With all teachers back on site and everyone returned from the draft with time for recovery, school is back in action. As warned, long overdue homework assignments are to be turned in on the first day back. Otherwise it's business as usual, though there may be a couple of new faces floating around class. New students will take a quick assessment test to help gauge their knowledge before joining in on classes. There, they can mingle with the rest of their classmates... as long as they aren't doing it in the middle of a lecture, of course.

One thing of note: the upcoming cultural fair! Discussion about it will begin in world sharing class. Students will be encouraged to think about what they want to do, as well as to spread the word among the Lucetifolk. Details in the appropriate world sharing thread below!]

((OOC: For the sake of efficiency, let's say an announcement regarding the date of the school's re-opening went up on the journal network the week before. If you haven't put your character on the school roster yet, please head over here and do so!

If you'd like to have your character doing things outside of the threads already set up, feel free to create new ones! Have fun and make friends.))

[Day 1 of the experiment. Vanellope tries to read through the whole lab. She really does. But it's really long. Her eyes kind of glaze (ha ha, glaze!) over before she can finish the whole thing.

So V decides to make a game out of seeing how many of the Lifesavers she can pop into her mouth while no one's looking. Mmm! Cherry! She's up to three, now.]

[ Solvent, solute, supersaturated...

WOW WHAT LANGUAGE ARE THESE INSTRUCTIONS IN? It can't be English, right? Also this paper is just not colorful enough or filled up with as many diagrams as she usually requires and prefers. Or...any diagrams. Why are there no diagrams.

Ikki is sadly no better than her lab partner. Although she started out trying to beautify the instruction sheet, she shortly lost interest (partly because she still couldn't puzzle out what some of the instructions were asking) to peer over at Vanellope - HEY. ]

That's our seed candy! We're supposed to plant it!

[ ...She...thinks...? ]
sugarglitch: (shut up and drive)

You can't plant Lifesavers, dummy. You don't grow rainbow-flavored trees that way! [Vanellope rolls her eyes. Geez, sometimes she feels like the only person that makes any sense anymore!! Oh well, it's a good thing she likes Ikki so much!]

Anyway, I've got no idea how to do this. These instructions are way too long and boring. It needs more pictures on how to do stuff!
breezing: (= considering this.)

[Science!]

[personal profile] breezing 2013-04-19 06:01 am (UTC)(link)
Well how're you supposed to grow them, then?

[ Because inquiring minds might want candy trees of their own.. ]

There aren't ANY pictures! And I don't know what some of this is saying at all. ...Geeeeze, are we gonna get a bad grade?
sugarglitch: (hmmm)

[Science!]

[personal profile] sugarglitch 2013-04-19 06:14 am (UTC)(link)
Dunno. I'm not part of the Candy Tree Department! But I think it's got something to do with Kool-Aid... [Or maybe it was skittles... Heck if V knows!]

A bad grade?! That's not fair! Maybe we gotta ask a teacher...
sugarglitch: (I try twice as hard; I'm half as liked)

[OKAY Vanellope does some glancing around and spots Professor Layton nearby. Well, he'll do! She raises her hand.]

Professor!!
breezing: (+ ooooooooooh.)

We don't know what we're doing!

[ That's said super cheerfully, since...

...well, Ikki has no clue what she's doing. HELP. ]
sugarglitch: (I still see your ghosts)

[Science!]

[personal profile] sugarglitch 2013-04-19 06:56 am (UTC)(link)
[At the same time, less cheerfully:]

This paper needs more pictures!
breezing: (+ formal clothes glee.)

Growing candy trees!

[ ...

She's forgotten what the real experiment is, if she ever really got that part. ]

Vee says planting our lightsaver won't work!
sugarglitch: (but it's good right)

[personal profile] sugarglitch 2013-04-19 07:12 am (UTC)(link)
[That's all she remembers too, Ikki! Don't worry.]

Yeah. Lifesavers won't grow into anything. So we dunno what they're for...?

What's solubility though?

[ YOU LOST HER AT WORD ONE...

But she's skipping to the steps and...doesn't look any more enlightened, actually. ]
Is "em el" like a teaspoon?
sugarglitch: (you're not from here are you?)

[personal profile] sugarglitch 2013-04-19 07:38 am (UTC)(link)
[Yeah, you tell him, Ikki!

Meanwhile Vanellope pops another Lifesaver into her mouth while she reads through the instructions again. Hmm.

Oh, is she supposed to say something?]

Sooo we just keep putting sugar in the water?

[ Hey, they measure things different in other worlds! ...Also, Ikki does look a lot more understanding of what's going on now. Or at least she checks the beaker and can extrapolate how to measure them out now. WHO KNEW. ]

Okay, but where do we plant the seed? It said it was a seed!
