Luceti Valley - The First Log

Summary: Luceti has become an idyllic and peaceful 50s-esque village. The first few days are just business as usual, right?

August 1st had seemed like an ordinary day in Luceti. But late in the evening, for those night owls who had not turned in yet, they were witness to strange fluctuations in the barrier. Beautiful, really, almost like Luceti had received its own 'Northern Lights', even though it seemed to come from the far east, across the ocean. This ominous light show lasted for all of fifteen minutes before it ceased all together. Skimming the ocean waters, a horde of cultists entered Luceti, cloaked by darkness. Upon reaching the entrance to the tunnels, their leader stepped inside and was followed one by one by his fellow cultists. When the last had entered, the tunnel entrance closed. Across the mountains, the entrance to the tunnels in the village did the same.

Midnight passed without incident, but by three in the morning, the change suddenly came. Minds were altered, forms were changed, and buildings sprang from nowhere.

Much later, on August 2nd, morning settled on a changed village, the new mayor made his way to his mansion with his pair of adorable dobermans at either side of him. The sun shined bright. It was a good day to be a Lucetian.

Note: There will be a stand alone log for the homecoming dance. There will be another log for the second stage of the event.

[Though she just started her maternity leave the week prior, that hasn't stopped Konan from drafting up lesson plans for the substitute teacher taking over her art classes. She knows her students, and they need structure. Some of the substitute teachers who have taught her classes in the past on her rare days off were good, but others tended to let the students run wild and acted more like a glorified babysitter than a teacher.

Konan has prepared a full lesson plan, including handouts outlining the appropriate technique the students are supposed to be learning in each lesson for a week.

She's stopping by in the staff lounge to say hello when she spots her nephew.]

Naruto. Do you have a minute?

Auntie Konan! [It's funny how he still kinda acts like a kid himself, when the students aren't around.]

How are you doing? I thought you left work already because of the baby and all?

[It's adorable how he still acts like a kid in spite of being a father of two himself. She doesn't mind in the slightest, though. It keeps her from feeling old.]

I did. I was just dropping off a lesson plan for the substitute teacher.

[That, and surprise visits to her classroom keep her students on their toes. It reminds them that any bad behaviour will get back to Mrs. Uzumaki. She's also happy to stop in and check on them.]

Ahhh, which one did they get? One fo the good ones, I hope.

[Still in his seet, Naruto puts his feet up on the desk, leaning back.]

I can't believe I'm gonna have a cousin in a few weeks. Hehe.

Judi Swanson. She's inexperienced, but she has an art degree, at least.

[Konan was reasonably satisfied with the choice. It was far better than having a substitute who couldn't see the value in art, although since her substitute was inexperienced, she was still going to make up lesson plans until she was just days away from her due date.]

About eight more weeks, now...thankfully. The baby is very energetic.

[Some of the kids can be a handful. Or a pain in the ass, actually. But it';; be okay.]

Did you think of any names yet?

I like Yahiko for a boy and Hana for a girl. I've been hesitant to settle on any names yet, though.

[Not when she and Nagato had so much trouble conceiving in the first place. They'd adopted Elie and never managed to give her a younger sibling until now.]

They seem like pretty good names. I think my Mom's got a load of suggestions, but don't listen to them yeah?

[Only a few weeks now, though! He's excited to have a baby cousin.]

I can't wait though! We're gonna have a baby in the family again, heh.

[Konan is excited by the prospect of having the baby born, and holding the newborn in her arms rather than within her body.]

Oh? What sort of names did Kushina mention?

[Ultimately, the only other person who gets a say in the baby's name is Nagato, but she's willing to at least hear what sorts of names her sister in law likes. Maybe the names will sound good with the last name Uzumaki.]

[It had been mentioned a couple of times, Naruto doesn't get why she likes the name though, he hates it for some reason.]
