Luceti Valley - The First Log

Summary: Luceti has become an idyllic and peaceful 50s-esque village. The first few days are just business as usual, right?

August 1st had seemed like an ordinary day in Luceti. But late in the evening, for those night owls who had not turned in yet, they were witness to strange fluctuations in the barrier. Beautiful, really, almost like Luceti had received its own 'Northern Lights', even though it seemed to come from the far east, across the ocean. This ominous light show lasted for all of fifteen minutes before it ceased all together. Skimming the ocean waters, a horde of cultists entered Luceti, cloaked by darkness. Upon reaching the entrance to the tunnels, their leader stepped inside and was followed one by one by his fellow cultists. When the last had entered, the tunnel entrance closed. Across the mountains, the entrance to the tunnels in the village did the same.

Midnight passed without incident, but by three in the morning, the change suddenly came. Minds were altered, forms were changed, and buildings sprang from nowhere.

Much later, on August 2nd, morning settled on a changed village, the new mayor made his way to his mansion with his pair of adorable dobermans at either side of him. The sun shined bright. It was a good day to be a Lucetian.

Note: There will be a stand alone log for the homecoming dance. There will be another log for the second stage of the event.

Day 3

[It's usually fairly easy to pinpoint Naruto's whereabouts on any given day, so it shouldn't take Shikamaru long. Once Naruto spots his old school buddy he stops whatever it was he was doing, smiling as he wanders on over to him.]

Hey, Shikamaru! What brings you up this way?

[endgames]

Naruto, good buddy. [He walks over, holding up his hand for a high five. The 50's aren't cool enough for fist bumps.] Couldn't it be I just missed seeing you?

[He says in that sing song note that hides nothing.]

Of course that's gotta be it, you just miss seeing my handsome face. [A grin spreads across his face as he high fives, as if it easn't already obvious that he wasn't being serious at all.]

So how's it going?

[endgames]

I'm tired. [Shikamaru breathes the words out in a sigh, leaning his shoulder against a school wall.] But with a little wile and sweet talking, I managed to get the day off from work.

Tell me about it. This one kid here's been running me ragged, I ought to be paid extra for all the extra hours I sit in the gym throwing balls at him I'm telling ya.

[Ohh. Day off from work, huh?] If you got the day off, why're you spending it coming here? Isn't Sakura at home?

[endgames]

[Pfft 'this one kid'. He wonders if it's who he's thinking of...]

Yeah, that's the thing of it. I'm trying to surprise her with something tonight... And that, my good buddy, is where you come in.

[Yup, it would be the one and only Lee.]

Something for Sakura, eh? [He knows her too, though not as long as Shikamaru. She's a nice girl, he'd love to help the two of them out.]
