Luceti Valley - The First Log

Summary: Luceti has become an idyllic and peaceful 50s-esque village. The first few days are just business as usual, right?

August 1st had seemed like an ordinary day in Luceti. But late in the evening, for those night owls who had not turned in yet, they were witness to strange fluctuations in the barrier. Beautiful, really, almost like Luceti had received its own 'Northern Lights', even though it seemed to come from the far east, across the ocean. This ominous light show lasted for all of fifteen minutes before it ceased all together. Skimming the ocean waters, a horde of cultists entered Luceti, cloaked by darkness. Upon reaching the entrance to the tunnels, their leader stepped inside and was followed one by one by his fellow cultists. When the last had entered, the tunnel entrance closed. Across the mountains, the entrance to the tunnels in the village did the same.

Midnight passed without incident, but by three in the morning, the change suddenly came. Minds were altered, forms were changed, and buildings sprang from nowhere.

Much later, on August 2nd, morning settled on a changed village, the new mayor made his way to his mansion with his pair of adorable dobermans at either side of him. The sun shined bright. It was a good day to be a Lucetian.

Note: There will be a stand alone log for the homecoming dance. There will be another log for the second stage of the event.

Day 4

[Man, it sure is nice having friends who will visit instead of the other way around. Shikamaru's been working so much lately, he barely has the time to seek them out.

For getting the day of the homecoming dance off, Shikamaru has to work a long night shift at the factory today. As such, he's still home for a bit when Chouji comes by Monday afternoon, after school lets out. And awake, no less! The door cracks open, then wider when he sees who it is.]

Chouji, hey. [High five, bro?] Congrats on the game. I heard you guys rocked the place.

Day 4

[Shikamaru might be too tired for visiting friends, but Chouji doesn't mind being the one to do the visiting. He's just glad timing worked out today. Always good when your friend is home and awake when you drop by for a visit.

And of course a high five, with a big grin to top it off.] Thanks, Shikamaru. It's a shame you couldn't make it, but I'm really glad you and Sakura got to the dance. Did she have a good night there?

[endgames]

[He visibly beams, recalling the look on his wife's face when he surprised her yesterday.]

I think she really did, thanks. How's Prim?

[Seeing Shikamaru this eager about anything is welcome, and with everything going on lately, he could probably use the break that the dance should have been.]

Prim's doing well. [It's Chouji's turn for that look. Prim enjoyed the dance, and he did too. This was Chouji's first time with a date for any of the school functions or dances.] Last night was a good night.

[He lightly punches Chouji's shoulder, like guys are wont to do.]

I always told you, didn't I? Any nice girl would want to date a guy like you.

I said I'd believe it when it happened, didn't I? I guess I have to admit you're right now.
