Who knew babysitting was so infuriating...
Who: Vegeta, Bulla, and Trunks
What: He wakes up to find his kids have now been returned to their child selves.
When: The morning of September 21st.
Where: House 29
Summary: One princely parent has his patience tried with a five year old and an eight year old. Both of which will terrorize him until this experiment ends.
Rating: L for LOL.
Thankfully for Vegeta, he wakes up feeling exactly the same as always, grouchy but mentally preparing for another day of rigorous training. He debates going to get Trunks to come with him for the day, but he wants his own alone time first to wake up. Rolling out of bed, he starts to head to the bathroom to do those morning essentials before heading into the kitchen to make himself some breakfast. Can't train on an empty stomach, you know.
He's got his back turned to the doorway, concentrating on making pancakes without burning them like he has so many times in the past. Bulma's not around to do the cooking anymore, so he's had to do a little learning himself for a change- maybe he'll give a shot at eggs today too, even though that's usually a disaster upon itself.

"Ahhh! Where am I?! Dad?! Mom?! Why are there wings on my back?! What's going on?!"
no subject
Even more alarming is the fact that the boy panicking looks just like her brother did when he was younger. But Trunks is a teenager, not a boy just a little older than her! How can this be?
"Mommy! Daddy! Trunks!" she calls out.

Those are the familiar voices of his children, but not as he knows them now. He turns around, running out to the living room and looking around for the two of them. Those were the cries of his children when they were small. What is going on? He peers down the hallway and sees the two of them.
"T-Trunks? Bulla?! What in the cosmos happened to you two!?"
no subject
"Dad? Is that you? Why do you look so old? And what happened to your hair? You also got a lot taller."
Sure enough, Trunks wasn't impressed by his father's new looks.
no subject
"Someone must have kidnapped us and thrown us in time machines! Daddy, you need to find out who did it and punch them in the face!"
no subject
"Well Trunks, why don't you learn to keep that mouth of yours shut before I decide that you won't see Goten for a month and give you a good spanking to boot?" Oh, he knows how to play this game. He hasn't soon forgotten. He scoops Bulla up as she runs over to him.
"Don't worry squirt, I'll take care of whoever did this." He'll just let her believe what she wants. Logic is telling him the Malnosso were behind this anyhow.
no subject
"So um dad, who is this little girl? And why does she look like mom? Is she my cousin or something?"
no subject
"You're my big brother, Trunks...except you're supposed to be older and even taller than daddy. That's why I think we got time-kidnapped!"
no subject
"What she says is true. This is your sister, Bulla. Let me put it this way- this place we're in now disregards any sort of logic when it comes to time, so you won't know because she simply hasn't been born yet from when you remember." He sighs, this is going to be so much more hassle than he expected.
no subject
"My...sister." He says out-loud and the expression on his face is one of both awe and horror. Also what his father said is slowly starting to sink in along with Bulla being right about them being kidnapped from different time. He's just going to sit on the floor now and not be sure what to really make of it.
no subject
She's not troubled by the look on Trunks' face, because it makes total sense to be freaked out after realizing that they really have been kidnapped from different points of time and meeting family from the future.
no subject
And he walks back out to the kitchen because he smells his pancakes burning. Ugh. It figures.
no subject
"But dad, I hardly know her. And besides, I don't want to play with a girl. She'll make me play dress up and house, that's so lame."
There's no ifs, ands, or buts about it for him.
no subject
She turns up her nose in a gesture reminiscent of her mother. "Hmph!"
no subject
Man he hopes that his son takes the bait on that one. A man has things to do, you know, like making god damned breakfast for the three of them.
no subject
"She would not! Fine then, we'll play hide and seek so I can show you I'm a master at that game." He sounds so confident and full of pride, it's ridiculous. "I've beaten Goten multiple times before, so I can beat a little girl."
no subject
"Okay! We can play a game you like better after, Trunks."
It's only fair that she co-operate. Maybe if they take turns and she plays some of his boy-games, he'll play house later.
no subject
"Alright you two, now go play and leave me be. I'll call you when breakfast is done." At this rate though, maybe it's better just to take them to Seventh Heaven instead...
no subject
"Say Bulla, do you want to play a better game than hide and seek? One that's way more fun?"
no subject
"Okay. What's the game?"
no subject
"Argh! Not again!"
-pancakes.
no subject
"It's called Surprise. We go around and surprise people with things like gifts or other stuff. Sounds fun, right?"
Yeah, he's totally got her duped on this. What a genius you are, Trunks.
no subject
Yup, she's not suspecting a single thing. Way to dupe your five year old sister, Trunks. Good job. She's thinking it'll be something like sneaking up and dropping a cookie in someone's lap, then running away before anyone sees who did it. Something perfectly harmless. Little does she know.
"Yeah, that sounds fun. Who do we surprise first?"
no subject
no subject
Trunks feels so sneaky and devious right now, but so proud at the same time. Oh man the fun he's about to have with this, he can't wait at all. This place won't know what hit it with the plans Trunks has.
"I don't know, let's just find someone nice and see if we can't surprise them."
no subject
"Like a whole cake? Or a pony?"
Bulla's wondering what kind of gifts they might give now. She trusts Trunks' judgment, although they'll have to see where they can find gifts to give in the first place. She follows after him, utterly clueless that his intent is anything but benign. At worst, maybe they'll startle someone, but who could stay mad when presented with a cake?
no subject
He grabs his sister's hand and starts dragging her off to find some nice "gifts" they can find around since this was going to be great. Or at least that's what he thinks anyway.
no subject
Whoops, he burnt another one. This is so annoying, how does the woman do it?
no subject
She knew that he lived with his son and daughter, but she had no idea what to expect.
no subject
"Well, what brings you here? I don't remember inviting anyone over."
no subject
"I simply came to check up on you. I believe there's another Shift going on. It appears that Fayt was affected, so Cliff is watching him. I volunteered to check on your and your children. To see if you were still yourself, that is."
HEY YOU TWO OTHER SAIYANS, COME BUTT IN WHENEVERRRR
no subject
"Should we play the surprise game with her?" she whispers.
no subject
"Yeah, let's totally play the surprise game on this lady." he whispers to her.
no subject
Sorry, Trunks. Your little sister just isn't going to think of anything awful on her own. Sneaking up on someone and surprising them sounds like it might be fun, but her "gift" ideas are benign.
no subject
"Nah, I got something better." He says before going over to see Nel.

no subject
Bulla can't see why a frog would be a better gift, so she picks a few dandelions and daisies growing amongst the grass and follows hastily after her brother to see what she's supposed to do next. Maybe the surprise is supposed to be giving a person a gross present that no one would want first and then a nicer one, and Trunks just forgot about the nicer part?
She holds the dandelions and daisies behind her back and follows behind Trunks with a sweet little smile on her face.
"Hi, miss!" she greets enthusiastically. "Are you Daddy's friend? I'm Bulla, and this is my big brother Trunks!"
no subject
"You're fine, Vegeta," she said with half relief before she turned her attention to the little girl at her feet.
"I suppose you could call your father and I acquaintances, Bulla. It's nice to meet you and your brother Trunks." Although, she'd seen the girl before now, and she should be as old as Sophia, not a small child. While her experience with children extended to Roger, she was going to attempt to not be scary, as Cliff and Clair had called her a few times. "My name is Nel."
no subject
sjhfjhkdf sorry for the late reply, guys
"Nice to meet you Miss Nel, Bulla and I have a gift for you if you'd like to see it."
He just continues smiling at her, unaware she may or may not have heard their conversation.
ME TOO! PLEASE DON'T HURT ME!
Trunks... She looked down at him, wondering who he thought he was fooling with that too large smile of his, but she'd play along with him.
"Of course. Gifts are always nice."
no subject
"You go first."
no subject
From his pocket, he lets a frog jump out and onto Nel's shoulder then waits for her reaction. Obviously she's going to have a freak out, right?
no subject
no subject
With a flourish, she pulled out the makeshift bouquet. "Surprise!"
no subject
And seriously, these were Vegeta's children? She was sort of interested in meeting their mother now. Because there was no way that children this adorable were raised solely by that man.
