[As he's walking through the plaza, he spots Luke, doing some kind of an intense mental work out if he's ever seen one. Approaching, he observes for a moment. He's got telekinesis too but nothing like this, not this kind of control. And he knows Luke's a Jedi. And that means he's a Force user, just like what Obi-Wan had mentioned way back in his early days of Luceti.]

[Leaning up against the wall of the house, he calls out to Luke.]

Can you still do that when someone's talking to you or is that impossible?

[From upside down, holding up a burned out hulk of a washing machine, several heavy logs, and a boulder or three it doesn't seem like Luke should be able to turn to look at the speaker but somehow he manages it.]

I can talk just fine.

[He recognizes Vegeta from their mission together and a few journal posts and Locked posts too, but he's only taken a cursory notice of the guy. But his life force is pretty impressive, the strength of it he can only really compare to Nomi Sunrider and Yoda.]

What's on your mind? Vegeta, right?

[He walks through the maze of heavy items lifted into the air, eyeing the washing machine in particular- until he's at least next to Luke. He doesn't feel like shouting.]

I could ask the same question of you right now. [He makes a motion to look around at Luke's feat.] You're not even trying all that hard, now are you.

[Luke eyes the objects, and if he could shrug he would, but being upside down isn't particularly conducive to that.]

All this is on my mind, and no, I'm not. I could move much more than this without a lot of difficulty, even with the barrier.

Well. That's a relief. Wouldn't want you to get crushed by your own technique. [He doesn't know how durable Luke's body is, but it sure wouldn't be fun to have that washing machine fall on top of you.]

It's not really so much a technique as it is an outside force acting through me. But I'll be fine. Something I can help you with?

[He shrugs.]

No. But it was hard to miss this commotion you've got going on over here, that's all. I've seen you around so I figured now was as good of a time as any to make myself known. I figure somewhere down the line we'd cross paths again and I don't like being unaware of my own colleagues.

Is that so?

[He laughs and the objects begin floating down to the ground as Luke drops out of his handstand and rights himself.]

I agree, it doesn't hurt to get to know people. Especially when we're long overdue for a draft. I know we were on that mission together, but I don't think I properly introduced myself.

[He extends a hand for a shake. A gloved one that's slightly larger than it should be.]

Luke Skywalker.

[He looks down at the hand, but doesn't take it. He doesn't really do handshakes.]

Vegeta. So. How long have you been trapped here then?

[Shrugging he lowers it twitches his hand, calling over a bottle of water.]

Two years and a few months. How about yourself?

A year and a few months myself. Well, I wasn't aware you had that much more seniority in that area over me. [And he really only means seniority in that area, because ego, of course.]

Not that I envy you, of course.

It's not much seniority. Raine's been here for almost six as I understand it. I think Albert's been here since the first cycle.

[Luke shrugs.]

It's not the worst place in the universe to be. I like to think I've done some good, and I've seen a lot of changes, of course. And I'd rather stay here until things are settled and the cycles have stopped.

Same. If there's one thing I hate, it's having unfinished business. And I've most certainly got a bone to pick with them. [Them being both the Malnosso and Third Party- who, like they surely have with everyone else, personally wronged Vegeta in more ways than one.]

Revenge is never a good motivation, but quite frankly in this case I'd rather see this all come to a halt.

[And what the Jedi doesn't say is that he's not going to be sorry to have that chance.]

Have you had to deal with many experiments, then? Personal ones, I mean.

[He makes a disgusted noise at the mention of the experiments.]

Yes. Those blasted droids got me in my sleep both times, too. Ridiculous.

That, especially, needs to stop. We're able to fight them now, but that doesn't make them any less troubling.

[Sigh...]

I wish there was a way we could set up an early warning system.

That would require having more technology available to us, and information and control over the barrier. You'd be better off asking this John I've heard about.

Or some sort of sorcerers willing to try it. It's certainly not impossible.

[And he shrugs.]

And technology, if you're willing to requisition it, isn't completely unavailable.

I'm aware. It's just expensive, that's all. And you should know as well as I that technology becomes obsolete fairly quickly, no matter what part of the universe you live in.

[Except maybe very, very underdeveloped planets, but that's not his point.]

Where I come from, that's not really the case. Technology tends to stay fairly static, but the galaxy I'm in is thousands of years ahead of the vast majority of Luceti.

[Including Dragonball. Crossing the galaxy in a pod taking a year? Pfft.]

Minor advancements aside, it's mostly been the same since the fall of the Rakatan.

Well, this certainly isn't your universe, and Luceti is even behind my own- so it's pretty safe to assume that everything is updated constantly, unless the Malnosso and whatever other factions that may be out there are far more lazy than we give them credit for. That's just how things work.

[Does he actually know? Of course not, but he figures his logic is sound.]

No, it's not. If it were, things would be a little different.

[Luke shrugs at the thought.]

But to be honest, having worked on some of their spacecraft, I'd say that they're a long way behind. The same goes for their security forces, they're mostly using Earth technology from what I've seen. They do have Shifting technology, which...is unique to this world, but that's as much magic as it is tech. I honestly don't know if they'd bother to update when they can just shift things. It's a lot simpler, after all.

I'd agree, but I'm sure they'll come up with better shifts to deal with whatever problems arise. That's not much different from upgrading technology, when you think about it.

[He thinks for a second.]

I'm sure they'd be able to extract that kind of information to upgrade their own normal technology from people like you and I, by those experiments, because who the heck knows what they exactly do to us. So perhaps you're right. Either way, I don't like thinking about it, but it's something to consider.

I'd say they would, but I'm not sure they bother, I guess. I've yet to see MSF troops armed with blasters or lightsabers. They have similar weapons, they've made us use them on drafts before, but they aren't quite as potent.

Either way, it always brings me back to thinking about Vaskoth anyway.

No, they probably don't bother. I'm surprised they don't take advantage of that however, it would serve their purpose to steal technology from their prisoners. Though...

[That gets Vegeta's attention.]

I've heard of this Vaskoth, but I'm afraid I don't know much about it. If you don't mind.
