[Kari's heard the rumors about the sudden drop of blue feathers in the shops happening periodically throughout the week, and though she doesn't exactly have anyone in mind to be passing one out to herself, it seems wrong for someone to just go about hoarding them! So, she's hidden herself in the shop, hoping to catch the thief in action. And what do you know, she just so happens to spot a certain someone grabbing up a fistful of them. That's when she jumps out.]

Aha! Caught you blue hand-- ugh, it's you.

[Why did it have to be him?]

[ Oh, why hello! Don't mind Joshua casually threading that feather he just grabbed into his wing. ]

Fancy meeting you here, Hoshikyo. What brings you to the shop?

[She's not going to answer. Instead, she's just gonna walk around Josh and look at whatever the hell he's doing with his wings.]

[She just kinda stares for a few moments...]

...so, what's the story here. Is stealing blue feathers some kind of weird form of acting out after getting your own proposal turned down or something?

I'm not allowed to just be up to a bit of fun? I recently decided the shade would compliment the rest of my wings very nicely.

And what if someone needs one of those after you've cleaned out the place? Are they just supposed to hunt down any and all blue-feathered residents and pluck one when they aren't looking?

[Speaking of -- she's just gonna try and reach over as if to make a point. Just how close does he let her get?]

[ Once her hand is about a foot from his wings he gives a little spin and steps back to put some distance between them. Even if she was actually intending only to grab one of the freshly-added feathers, he wouldn't risk her possibly grabbing the wrong blue. And that's the nicest possibility.

He's had feathers pulled out before and it is not fun. ]

Maybe they're dedicated enough to pull out one of their own and color it.

[Wise thinking -- she wouldn't have particularly bothered to make sure if it was one of the fake blue ones or not before yanking.]

But isn't that just kind of creepy? "Here, my love, I bring you the physical manifestation of my self-induced pain and suffering, now in a stylish blue color! So please, pledge your life to me"?

... I think it's romantic, hee hee.

[ Then again Josh has a very skewed perspective on the purpose of pain and suffering, so... ]

Well, then you've got one messed up view on romance. Isn't ripping out a feather supposed to put you in enough pain to make you puke?

[And then the conversation took a very unromantic turn.]

Yes, but it's not always enough to puke. And you don't need to do it in front of them, either.

Besides, if you're married, don't you think you're going to see your special someone vomit at least once during your lives together?

There's a difference between seeing it and indirectly being the cause of it!

And no one ever serves their special someone a meal that they haven't quite properly prepared, either.

[ Because, you know, same potential effect there. ]

If they're dedicated enough, the blame would hardly be on your shoulders.

...it's still creepy. But I guess I shouldn't be surprised. [Since Joshua is such a creep after all, obviously.]

But-- come on, just cause you think it's romantic doesn't mean you have to be a jerk and hoard all the blue feathers for yourself! You could at least leave some of them for the saps out there!

I suppose I could, but then where would the fun be in that? Better to have none at all than make those searching for them fight each other over a limited supply.

[ As amusing as such a thing would be. ]

Right. So you'd rather have them fighting over you, huh?

[And hunting him down to pull those blue feathers out.]

I do enjoy being pursued, hee hee.

Well, I'll be sure to let everyone know who to go to if they want to yank a few feathers.

[She doesn't want to hear about your romantic life and weird feather-plucking fantasies, Joshua...! The latter of which she made up, but has decided he must have, because it makes sense in a really weird way.]

Sorry. You're kind of the opposite of my type. So I'm not too keen on hearing about your romantic escapades.

It was a simpler phrase than "partner for interesting conversation", but if you'd prefer the accuracy I can use that.
