Chauve-Souris and Laser Blade at the ready, the devil forgemaster greets the enemy baring his teeth in a fierce grin before parrying and slashing and stabbing with gleeful ease, the air alive with demonic energy he gives off in waves. Firebrand is out and circling him on high-alert, holding its own as it breathes streams of fire into the faces of his attackers and peppers the battlefield with bombs from overhead, guarding itself when necessary.]
B) [Finding rest in hostile territory is all too necessary, difficult as it is. And with few options available in the ways of higher ground, Isaac settles for claiming a sturdy tree branch fairly high off the ground where he’s at least somewhat hidden among the leaves. There, he has a quick meal of dried meat, bread, and a gulp of water from a flask in his pack before the distant, ever-present sounds of the dying lull him to sleep. But even with Abel vigilantly keeping watch, Isaac sleeps only briefly, catching it in snatches. Anything longer is meant for the dead.]
B
'fter seein' ya out there, kinda glad I turned down ya offer. [He offered the other man a grin.]
I don't know why I d'awwed, but there you have it
You say it as if you’d have given me reason to tear you apart. [His voice is husky and low and drained of most of its playful energy.] I would hate to have to hurt something so very pretty.
[Lips twist into a wry smile, shoulders slow to lower. It’s longer yet before he snaps his hand in a fist over the fire and snuffs it out. But Abel is distinctly less friendly, folding it arms across its chest and intending to enforce the distance between Remy and the tree with a challenging, five-eyed glare.]

Ah cher, such sweet words. [From such a spiky package.]
Ya still in one piece?
no subject
Calm yourself, Abel; he has done me no harm. [He cocks his head and his eyes gleam whiter, almost iris-less when catching what scant threads of moonlight pierce the haze hanging thick and low overhead.] ...Not yet.
[While he doesn’t mean to allow Remy to linger too long, not especially comfortable with the idea of drifting off even lightly with anyone keeping this close, he supposes a few minutes can’t hurt. That should do.]
Your... concern, charming as it is, is misplaced. [He smiles still while reaching into his pack for one of the potions Julia had left him with.] 'tis the enemy who should worry, if there lies even but a scrap of a brain in their skulls.

[Ah, a man with a sense of humour and the capacity to appreciate his own is a rare thing and he laughs gently, lifting the potion flask to his lips. Having already once relied on Firebrand’s lifeforce-leeching ability to seal lesser wounds, soothe the dull burn in his muscles, and restore some of his vitality mid-battle, he’s mindful to ration his resources. Only so much healing could be done and there was no knowing for how many days this battle would stretch on.]
Your side? [He allows himself just another small sip before capping it.]
no subject
Ya ain't someone I be keen to take on in battle.
Ike, just take the dang 'compliment'. XD
I am not in the habit of choosing sides. [That he owes to Dracula’s betrayal after thirteen years of unquestioning, almost slavish obedience. For explaining away his faults and suffering his ruthless indifference towards anything but his own dark ambitions.]
As it so happens… my intent simply aligns with yours and that of the humans. [Behind cool politesse is a ruthless indifference of his own.] That is all.
That would be too easy now, heh
no subject
…'tis a start. [A twitch of amusement teases the corner of his mouth.]

Were you to kneel before me… perhaps I might be compelled to forgive you your poor choice of words.
[That velvety purr of his has a way of transforming any handful of words into a threat or a proposition; even both, at times. But this too is said in good humour.]
no subject
Ah, cher, we been here. I don't make it a habit of kneelin' in front of other men, as pretty as ya be. Would ya take a more gentlemanly bow 'nstead, with some added dramatic flare only a long coat or cape can create?
no subject
You wound me.

[Remy tsked him. Inhaling one last time on his aigrette, Remy flicked the butt of it away after putting a small charge into the item, allowing it to 'POP!' in the same manner of a small fire cracker.] Ain't goin' to get 'nywhere in this conversation if we keep goin' 'bout in circles.
no subject
And, pray tell, where would you prefer that it went? [He punctuates the question with lazily raised brows, crossing his arms.]

'twouldn't have been the first time I've found a moment in a battle such as this for... lighter entertainment. [He glances coyly over the branch at Remy, or what of him can be seen from that angle.] Not in the thick of it, of course.
[Damn incubi and their stress-relieving distractions. It had happened - though infrequently - while setting up camp in newly-claimed territory while others were responsible for serving as lookouts.]
no subject
'll let ya get some rest, cher. Can't have ya nappin' on the field now, we might get swamped otherwise.
no subject
And man thinks me cruel. [He remarks with a thin, wry twist to his smile and leans back against the tree’s trunk after a moment, arms still crossed.] Sleep, and may dawn find you alive.
no subject
Same to ya. [Remy followed it up with that promised over the top bow, using his arm to let his coat flare out before heading back to his own spot to rest.] See ya 'round, cher.
