[Much like last year, the rec center is decorated and freshly cleaned, with a plethora set up throughout the main floor. Each set includes a small table and two chairs facing each other. Along with number plates to help direct people to their partners, there is a small pile of coloured paper cards, stacked down, and pencils on every table.

Further back there is a collection of couches forming a lounging circle, as well as a couple of tables with drinks and snacks all set up and ready to be eaten. And yes, the fantastic rainbow cookies from the year before have made a reappearance. No doubt they'll disappear just as fast. The lounge area has a recycled sign from last year that says, "If you find yourself on a turn without a date, come hang out!", and this year, a new weird-looking potato man is hanging on the wall. ...But whatever.

All in all, the whole place looks ready for a big event, and when enough people have gathered - and the clock ticks to the agreed starting time - Teddy and Billy step forward to get things moving at last.]



Hey, hey! Announcement time here! Can everyone hear me? [...] All right, good!

So, some of you may remember this from last year. If you didn't come then, or if you're new, or happened to get roped into this by one of your friends, then on behalf of... uh...

[He glances down at Billy and, taking the cue, his partner speaks up.]

...We'll call the name a work-in-progress for now. Kurt says he's got it covered.

[His response is a raised eyebrow, because really, Kurt? But Teddy gets right back on track with a smile after that.] … Welcome to the second annualish speed dating event! I'm Teddy, this is my fiancé Billy, and we'll be your hosts for today. I know you just want to get started already, but unfortunately, we've got to go over the rules and stuff first. Everyone should have a list of numbers. When Billy gives the signal, everyone will head to the table with the first number on your list, where you'll either wait for or meet up with the person you're paired with. You'll both have five minutes to talk and get to know each other, for better or for worse, and leave with some sort of impression of them. Hopefully good, but can't win 'em all, right? After those five minutes, one of us will blow the whistle, and then you'll head to the table with the next number on your list. Repeat steps one through whatever, until we've reached the end! Hopefully by then, you'll have a new friend, a potential date, or hey, you might have just met the new love of your life!

[Teddy looks to Billy then, who speaks up next to him.]

The tables have conversation cards, in case you're not sure how to get things rolling, or if you're feeling shy- it has topic ideas, questions to ask your partner, whatever we could come up with. As you go through the list, try to give a little 'yes' or 'no' to the people you speak to- yes for wanting to see them again, no for it not being a good match. Once it's over just hand in your papers and we'll let everyone know - discretely, of course! - who gave and received a mutual yes. You don't have to wait for us, though- if you hit it off with someone really well and you both want to hang out right away, don't let us stop you. We have games and stuff set up over in the lounge area-

[He gestures to aforementioned lounge, complete with couches, a couple of tables, a stack of assorted games, and a snack and drink table.]

-Or you could just sneak off to keep yourselves entertained. We don't judge.

We totally do judge, just so you know.

[Billy elbows him. Gosh, boyfriend, behave.

Teddy just laughs a little, waving his hand as if to dismiss a joke.]

Okay, okay, we don't. Anyway, that's about it. We're going to give everyone one minute to get to the first table, then we'll blow the whistle and let everyone start. Thanks for coming, have a great time!

[They go back to sitting at their host table, and then, after the minute passes and everyone's settled, the whistle is blown. BEGIN!]

Konoha's Beautiful Green Wild Beast, Rock Lee

[Rock Lee is dressed as always in his green jumpsuit and his flak jacket. He is also wearing a backpack that is loaded to the brim with pink flower petals. As the day ensues, he alternates between two different actions in confronting his dates.

A. Rock Lee runs along the ceiling to be above his next designated table. First, he drops a small shower of flower petals onto the table, then he drops himself to try to land in the empty chair.

Sometimes he lands perfectly. Sometimes he may instead land face-first on the chair, or on the other person. Choose your own Leeventure?

B. Rock Lee gets to the table with time to spare and does one-armed push-ups intensely on top of the table.]

[Crystal opens her hands at the petals - what the heck - and jumps when he lands (perfectly, no humiliation on your first thread today, Lee!) in front of her and on the chair.

...That was a beautiful entrance and she's going to brush petals off of her hands. At least they don't look too bad with her hair.]

I think you're going to make a lot of good impressions today, Lee. [Yep. Oh...] Come to think of it, the first time we met you mentioned we met over speed dating, didn't you?

[Hooray! Lee looks very pleased with himself and her reaction, smiling confidently. It worked so perfectly, clearly that means he should keep trying it over and over again.]

Thank you very much, Crystal-san. I certainly hope to! It is true that we first met at speed dating, and now we meet once more! Which youthful star is deciding our destiny?!

[Oh, clearly.

...you know she's a little peeved Gold signed her up for everything - okay, listen, "She needs it all" was his commentary and what's that supposed to mean -- but.]

The brilliantly shining star of friendship. [Look, she's going with his energy -- but she pauses, then brushes her hair behind her shoulder.] I haven't really thought about anything romantic - like, with anyone - and it's been a while since I went on a proper date, so I probably wouldn't be good for anything else.

[He doesn't look disappointed at least. He's here to make all kinds of bojds after all.]

You could end up doing even better than you imagine! However, I approve fully of the shining star of friendship.

[And it's as she brushes at her hair, he suddenly realizes the difference.]

Ah- your hair! Beautiful!

[B'Elanna definitely isn't expecting the shower of petals. She also doesn't expect a guy to suddenly descend from the ceiling and land in the chair in front of her.

For a moment, she just stares, her mouth opened slightly in disbelief. Eventually she finds her voice.]

That... was impressive.

[Though judging from the sound of her voice she thinks it was a bit much.]

[He smirks proudly at his success. He'll take her words at face value.]

Thank you very much, Miss! My name is Rock Lee!

B'Elanna Torres. It's... nice to meet you Rock.

Thank you! It is nice to meet you as well, ah... Beh- B'Elanna-san! [He takes some of the conversation cards and begins flipping through them quickly, trying to piece together a topic.] What are your interests and hobbies?

[Well Rikku is pretty impressed by the flower petals, until the moment Lee lands face first on the chair.

THEN she has absolutely no idea how to react. She's between laughing, and worried. But she get's up to help him up.]

I give you an A for effort!

[He's a little dazed but he accepts the help. Quick to get on his feet, his face just a little swollen for his failures - and he smirks as he gives a thumbs up.]

Thank you very much! That is what matters. Youth is... rambunctious... [He blinks as it clicks who she's looking for.] Rikku-san?

[Sabriel was a little late getting to her next table which led her to stumble upon Lee doing a rather vigorous exercise by the time she arrived. Halting a few feet from where she was supposed to sit she watches him in amused confusion. After three more push ups she speaks up with a grin.]

What number are you on?

[He smiles, looking straight towards her as he does his thing.]

58! 59! [And then he stops while keeping himself propped up on the one arm and continues looking directly at her.] Good afternoon, Miss!

Good afternoon to you too. Don't let me stop you if you'd prefer to continue.

[Wow, Lee. You've got some pretty great upper body strength going for you, eh?]

I'm Sabriel, by the way.

[Yes, haxxored enough that he once managed a hundred of them while half-crippled...]

It's a pleasure to meet you, Sabriel-san! Ah... and what you just said...

[A fire burns in his eyes.]

Was that a challenge?! I promise to reach 500 - no, 700! - before our time ends! [And now he starts moving faster.] While... still conversing... youtfully!

[Well... the flower petal shower seems romantic at first. It does get Minako wondering where these petals are coming from while waiting to see who she's paired with next. Then comes the unexpected, Lee dropping from the sky... face-first on the chair. Knowing him, he's probably fine. Either way, Minako keeps a smile even if it looks weary.]

I think you're suppose to flip right-side up.

[Lee remains there, face-down for a moment with a few slight twitches as he takes in her words.]

Yes... You are right... I WILL DO THAT!

[And as he dramatically says that, he does that flip and lands right-side up, and he does so with such force that the chair is sent flying up into the air!

He points dramatically across the table.]

YOU ARE MY DATE! [And then the fire lowers as he blinks.] Minako-san?

[Much as she wonders when the chair is coming back down, the way Lee questions in the very end well... Minako's smiling but an eyebrow is twitching.]

Your date. [At least for 5 minutes. Now she's kinda hoping that chair falls on his head.]

Yes! [He picks up more enthusiasm, even as he realizes he might have said something wrong.] I- I expected a stranger! But you are looking very beautiful today! [Where's the chair? Who knows.]

[ When she's forced over to his table, it doesn't take her long at all to join in with the push-ups. She doesn't even seem to be breaking a sweat as she does them even faster in hopes of catching up on whatever number he happens to be on. ]

[Lee is all too pleased! Smirking at his newest attendant.]

35, 36, 37... Morgiana-san, you are very youthful!
