just pokemon trainer stuff
Who: Red (
pokeboy) & Giovanni (
hotboss) & then some others later
What: Just having a picnic, trainer style
When: 18th September, 2014 (Thursday)
Where: Me on the mountain
Summary: Challenging rock... challenging DEATH. Or just trainer survival skills.
Rating: Violence, injury. Being dumb.
[ The day starts with an end to Red's streak of good luck at getting an early room at the Battle Dome, a following five minute wait showing him no differently. It's a short amount of time to wait, sure, but Red isn't in the mood to sit around and watch people leave and then re-enter after turning back on their scenario. It would be good anyway, he realises, for him and his pokémon to have a day outside where the whole of their bodies wouldn't be pressed down by an unseen force for hours by gravity training. (Thanks, Vegeta)
So following that, Red gets the bright idea to take the entire day off from the Battle Dome and his usual appointed training - magic and staff, leaving messages for the relevant people for whenever they would be free to read it - and spend it all with his pokémon up in the mountains instead. He'd take his staff and they would stop in places to do some training before moving on, go along different routes from the usual; have some fun but still spend the time being productive with their learning. They had plenty of moves they wanted to try and pull off too.
And then it rains. How about that. Softly at first, and really, those clouds in the sky should've given it all away earlier! Snorlax huffs as it twitches his nose, but Pikachu has an energetic air about him, like this is gonna turn out to be a better day soon. They could've turned back, but Red decides that they should continue on: no point letting a little water ruin their day!
By then it's halfway into the day, and the four of them have gotten far up. Spikes of rock lift up on the level they reach, still plenty of open spaces around the edge of the cliff, but inward leading into narrow paths that need to be tread before one can get higher up. The way mountains can form and shape is so interesting to see, but there's plenty more to be see up ahead.
Whatever misfortunes have been scattered throughout the day, Red hasn't seen them for that. What does make Red curious in that day though is when he gets to the land less... unnatural, and how to command Snorlax to smash through rubble already broken to get through a path, and how that led onto an area that looked... trashed. Wrecked.
Huh. Was someone through here recently?
Maybe he'll just call back Snorlax here and follow the odd trail to wherever it ends, and see if their makers are still around, if this wasn't old or something. Quietly dooooes it...! ]

Mostly he's over here to, well, check on this venusaur. It was one he recognized, after all, considering his own managed to wander her way once in the woods, and led to some awkward conversations.
... But that doesn't really matter too much now. Instead, being this close, he can nerd out about moves.]
Maybe! I mean, my Snorlax knows it too, and it's pretty good for coverage.
[Though, that Kangaskhan... while he doesn't entirely recognize it, it would be another candidate for making the tunnel collapse.]
... But I dunno if he's the one that used it.

Giovanni.
Gold doesn't say anything on the matter, though. He does look in Silver's direction and nods, however.]
This definitely ain't natural, that's for sure. Whoever Red was up here with, things must've gotten pretty intense for it to all end up like this.
no subject
This was an accident, and I doubt Red's the only one that's buried. I can't imagine this place taking an Earthquake well.
[If he had to make a guess... There probably wasn't time for too much action. His father goes all out right away.]
Rock Slide.
[Feraligatr raises his hands and moves them as if he's pushing something; with the "push", a chunk of boulders get pushed right off the mountain.
There's an edge to Silver's words, and he scopes out the area as he prepares for the worst again. Good thing he has Gold to back him up.]

Pikachu helps out as well with Iron Tail, using the steel attack to carefully take out any rubble that he can.
And Ash? Helping out as well. He saw the Kanghaskan and vaguely wondered whose it could be but the quicker they can manage to get this rubble out the better, right. And he doesn't really have any thoughts to include on whatever they're talking about so he's going to help the Pokemon instead.
If anyone has to pull him back do so, as he doesn't hear the edge in Silver's voice and pays attention to the Rock Slide just enough so that he's not in the way of that. ]

your other motherCilan is here for, to keep an eye on you and wordlessly pull you back a little in case you're too close when Silver's Pokemon start sending rocks tumbling down the side. And to help out too, of course, because once Cilan has gotten down off of Silver's Gyarados, he'll take out Crustle's poke'ball to use for now.]No, it probably wouldn't withstand an earthquake, which is why we should also try to be a little careful while we're moving the rocks aside--it wouldn't be in good taste to potentially trigger another landside or something else otherwise. [That said, Crustle will do it's best to help out in the beginning--the rain is slowing it down a little, but for now it's okay. It'll even try to offer to help out Feraligatr in particular, holding up a claw and waving a little to get it's attention--we know Rock Slide too, so if you want to, we can take turns using it so that the two of us don't run out of energy too quickly while moving the rocks aside?]
no subject
Of course, now that Gyarados isn't carrying any passengers, he's free to help out with Stone Edge.]
no subject
Speaking of Snorlax in those brackets, the shifting of the stone will reveal the large and round pokémon, as well as - which might not be as obvious due to their colouring - the form of a rhydon, both knocked out.
They're still rather buried into the rubble but please be careful thank you, they have delicate heads. The worst part of the area is the pit they're in in terms of instability, so at least you don't have too much to worry about unless you're too close to the edge of that... ]
no subject
And once through?]
Oh! Snorlax! And...something else.
[She floats closer, continuing her attempts to free the big bearcat, carefully catching any falling stones with her magical wind. No point in rescuing them if they just get hurt by more rocks accidentally.]
no subject
It's a Rhydon. Another Pokemon.
[Though now he's starting to get worried. One because he's starting to figure out who it is, and two where are they.]
no subject
[Gyarados is large enough that he can reach over the boulders and pick up Rhydon with his mouth; it's not difficult to pull him over to safety. Snorlax, on the other hand... Snorlax weighs much more. Even Gyarados might not be able to pick him up.
Which is fine. They've got strength in numbers.]
Red, Ash, Saur. Do you think you three could use vines to pull Snorlax out together?
no subject
[Red's willing, anyway. And he knows the others are too. His venusaur is already ready to do so, vines placed on Snorlax to give a tug. Heave-ho!]
no subject
When the others start tugging on him, the god adds her strength to their's by wrapping arms and wind around his midsection, and together they'll succeed pulling him free.]
no subject
Tch... What were those morons thinking, havin' a battle in a place like this? [He's not necessarily surprised by Red not having the foresight here, but he did expect better from the man who was the boy's opponent.] This is a fine mess.
no subject
[ And Snivy does her part. Hey she might not be a big Venusaur or some wind god but surely her part in it helped, right? And while Snivy is helping doing that Pikachu and Ash will continue to do their part.
And let's pretend this post makes sense time wise. ]
Maybe they weren't thinkin?
[ Tact, Ash. It's a thing. And also you shouldn't talk you probably would have done the same thing. ]
no subject
[That's the more solid question, to him- nothing about the fact that they battled is surprising, but having their entire team out and about like this? The only one missing is Nidoking...]
no subject
[That is kinda suspicious. Like he's heard of double battles and all, but... everyone at once? That's kind of strange.]
Maybe they weren't even battlin'?
no subject
-- until he's removed from his resting place, and the rubble around him starts to go downwards, like his fat rear end was blocking up a hole. Oops. ]
no subject
He freezes as noise trickles in from above, then jerks as rocks and dust come falling down nearby. Nidoking strains his head up, peering through small trails of light glaring down - someone's up there! So help him if it hurts some pride having to be rescued by some lesser creature; all that matters is that Giovanni gets out of here first.
With the little strength he has, Nidoking lets out a guttural cry, hoping it penetrates through the rocky cavern to whoever's up top.]
no subject
[It definitely wasn't a sound that he would miss. Saur quickly shoots vines down the hole at his trainer's request, trying to find and assist who, and what, was down there.]

[ Snivy goes over next to Saur to help him try and dig out who and what was down there, also ready to pull anything out once something is grabbed. ]
