Timey-Wimey Nonsense Part 1
Who: Everyone!
What: The Time Travel Trip 2014
When: HUNDREDS OF YEARS AGO
Where: Luceti before it wascool Luceti
Summary: The residents are dragged into the past thanks to John's latest Shift. More information is here and here, and, ICly, here.
Rating: Varied
It's early morning in the quiet enclosure that will someday become Luceti. The sun is rising, birds are chirping in that annoyingly cheery way that makes you want to shoot them out of the trees, and the residents are beginning to wake up. Most of them are heading to work, either to farm, or to build, or to work the shops, or even just to prepare a nice breakfast for their families and neighbours. Everyone has something to do.
And then, out of nowhere, a couple hundred strangers show up in the middle of the woods.
At first there is confusion, and no shortage of caution, from the neighbours; newcomers are common enough, but usually they are announced beforehand, and never in such great numbers. The leaders of the town are called in to ask questions. The newcomers are free to explore, but any aggression will be met in kind; if need be, the Filial of the past will defend their homes. They're hoping it won't come to that, however. You're stuck with one another for a long time, after all.
Thankfully, there is one man who might be able to bring the natives and newcomers together: Tyr.
...And the other guy, maybe. We'll see.
((mingle and explore at will! further questions can be redirected to either of the posts linked above. NPCs will be available for plotty stuff soon.))

no subject
"I think," he said by way of greeting, "that the John has somehow made our living situation even more boring, and I did not think that possible."
no subject
It might be the first smile he's cracked since waking this morning. At least, the first genuine one, and he approached Loki, taking his hand in his. "Feels kind of like home, really. Minus the moaning undead."
no subject
And then for good measure, he leaned forward to kiss Eugene's cheek, then a bit more to rest his face near Eugene's shoulder, that curve where it joined the neck. He inhaled deeply; yes, he smelled right. Powers might be more diminished here, but at least he could still smell properly.
"Every time you speak of your home I only feel sorrier for you."
no subject
"Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't you all enjoy a good slaughtering? I really should tell you more about home in Canada than Abel. Maybe you might feel less sorry for me." He let his head lean forward, enough to press his face into Loki's hair. "How are you doing here? I mean, you look fine, sure, but looks can be deceiving, and you know this better than anyone I think living or dead."
no subject
"It comes from living in a culture of meatheaded warriors." He tilted his head to rest his chin against Eugene's. "I hear Canada is very... nice. Yes. That is what everyone seems to say." His arm tightened around Eugene slightly. "Aggravated more than anything."
no subject
Aggravation, however, he could understand. He had been more than irritated learning that the cooking facilities here were much more of a communal nature than what they'd had before. He'd been less than nice about it. "Nice, till you mention hockey. It's our best kept secret."
But now he was curious, and he stood fast, relishing in the fact that he had two legs to do that with, when Loki leaned into him just enough. "Talk to me about it?"
no subject
He considered that. "You mentioned hockey before, so I researched it a bit. Your way of playing at war, hm?"
This was pleasant indeed, bodies together in a long line that wasn't strictly friendly, but not necessarily more than that either. And it was contact he craved; Rogue had only just gotten back and he still felt rather starved. He moved his thumb idly against Eugene's back. "Nothing that requires talking as such." There was a hint of distaste to his tone; he still didn't see the point in all the talking about feelings that humans did.
"But I dislike having to relearn the terrain again if I don't wish to fall on my nose. And worse, it is all in flux, with all the construction. 'tis... disorienting."
no subject
"See, okay, if I ever have a chance to pick a super power for myself, it'll be mind reading, so I can avoid conversation." as obvious as that aggravation seemed now, Eugene wouldn't have thought to consider it. Maybe he should go without a sense so that he might understand it better. "Hell, I can see and even I trip over my own two feet when I'm helping to plow the field. Watch out for the fertilizer."
The hand resting on Loki's back travelled up toward the base of his skull, rubbing lightly there. "You brought books. You know which ones?"
no subject
Loki wrinkled his nose. "Ugh, telepaths." He poked Eugene lightly in the side. "Very nosy of you, you bad man. But you're being terribly useful, are you? I've managed to avoid meaningful work thus far."
"If Kirk did not lead me wrong, it ought to be the volume of British poetry and one of the World of Discs books." He arched his neck into the touch just a bit.
no subject
Thor also did not fit in here, nor in ballet recitals, but that was neither here nor there. He shifted his hand to accommodate the arching, following lines of tension he felt and working to ease them out.
"World of Discs is pretty good!"
no subject
His hand slowly came to rest against Eugene's waist, just a solid touch. He would be good and do no more than that.
"I am glad Billy had me start reading them. They are well crafted as comedies, I think."
no subject
His hand slid up further, burying into Loki's hair, but keeping the touch just shy of a pressing caress. "And I agree, comedic but informative. It's really kind of refreshing. Where'd you leave off?" There was no hurry to dislodge their contact, but Eugene knew that eventually he'd be missed. That's what he got for being useful. "If you didn't finish, I wouldn't mind reading some to you."
no subject
He breathed out a soft sigh, hand tightening slightly. "The book is Thud. Only a few chapters in before things got very distracting. So yes, I'd like you to ready a bit more to me."
Among other things, really But the reading wasn't going to get him in trouble.
no subject
Initially he didn't bother to move, content with the arrangement here for several moments longer than he should be. But eventually he shifted, hand in Loki's hair sliding down to his shoulder, then to his upper arm. Enough to take hold, but not to dislodge the grip on the books he held.
"Unfortunately the barrier is much more condensed than it was before, so our spots to hide are limited. This way, though, I'll help guide you." he missed the closeness already, feeling the chill of open air where contact had been before. But that would be back, if he had anything to say about it.
no subject
With the embrace, already wickedly long, at an end, Loki gave Eugene's neck a soft kiss--wicked, but he couldn't resist--and then moved back so they could walk together comfortably.
"Yes, I'm a bit aggravated at how much smaller it is as well. Not that my horse is here for riding."
no subject
His other hand firmly grasping Loki's, he led him farther from the compound, into the trees. "Vakri-- isn't here?" so far as he knew, everyone had been transported here. He stopped after a moment when he felt the quality of the grass under them change and was pleased to note it was thicker here, suitable for sitting on.
"I do wonder how far back in time we've gone. Saying that seems ridiculous, but so did saying 'oh the end of the world happened and here we are!'"
no subject
Still he also just liked the feeling of Eugene's hand in his. He noted the change in the ground beneath his feet. They were just sneaking off to read a bit, though he could entertain himself pretending it was for things far more elicit.
"I haven't quite gotten the answer for that yet. It may take observation here and then a return to our time. Or perhaps just asking Jon might provide the answer. One never knows with him."
no subject
He kept hold of Loki's hand and he took a seat, guiding him down and to rest his head in his lap. Nothing out of the ordinary, just two very close friends settling in for some company together. There was no mead here to make things confusing and interesting.
"Alright, hand the book over." Well, he was allowed some small things, wasn't he? Like cupping Loki's face with both hands. It wasn't too much, but enough to be flirty, which was a good place to be.
no subject
Loki lay down happily and settled himself. And well, if Eugene was going to touch his face like that, he would turn his head to press a kiss against his palm. Nothing so wicked as that. He offered Eugene the book, feeling quite content with the world for now. Eugene always smelled rather nice, which was perhaps odd.
no subject
"It's okay, you saved me from looking like a complete asshole, actually. I should give you my thanks." not noticing Ranni or Savio gone missing would result in him being couched, for sure.
Clearing his throat, he checked where Loki said he left off, beginning to read, and letting his hand rub slightly against Loki's scalp.
no subject
"Well, I do wish to keep you relatively unbruised."
He sighed contentedly at the attentions. This was nice indeed. Very relaxing. He would much rather be reading under his own power still, but if he closed his eyes he could pretend that he and Eugene were rather like lovers that had snuck off to do share a quiet moment. That was an acceptable sorry of time for reading aloud.
shall we wrap it up :3?
