Zack held fast to the ladder and looked up as Cloud started pulling; the sight of mako eyes in the dark was oddly reassuring, and he smiled, nodding to reassure Cloud (and glad to know he could finally see properly to appreciate it). As they drew closer to the surface, he felt an odd combination of strength and weariness... as if a great boost of strength was growing within him and draining away at the same time. It was definitely one of the most bizarre feelings he'd ever experienced, and he hoped it would go away once he got up there.
