Mass-Interaction in Desset

Who: Draftees.
What: FIGHT FOR YOUR LIVES... or wander around. idfk.
When: Anytime this week.
Where: Desset City
Summary: Mass-interaction post in the city for the poor souls who've been drafted.
Rating: Anywhere from PG to R.

[With permission from the mods, I've gone ahead and put up this... post... for everyone who was interested in actually threading in the city. You can either prose or write in first-person; totally up to you. Actually threading a fight with the Third Party is also optional. Just keep in mind that if you do you'll have to be the one controlling the enemy's actions and whatnot. If you're not sure how to go about that, just remember the information they've provided us with. They're not very tough, but if you still need an idea with how they fight, just read up on this a bit. Please do remember that the enemies we're fighting are weaker compared to the ones previously fought, though. |D;

But yeah. Mass-interaction, guys. YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO.]

Fine. Don't raise your voice. [His voice is sharp as he tries to regain his footing in the semidarkness. He looks up at the lights overhead, noticing them growing larger and brighter as the cultists descended.]

We need to get out of here. [He reached out to feel along the metal spires, working his away around them to continue in the direction Ted had pointed out.]

[He promptly shuts his mouth at that. He tries to make sure that at the very least, Albert could get to hiding safely. He was still, after all, a non-combatant, and from the looks of it, they weren't exactly going to be safe for too long at this rate.

Making sure none of his clothes gets accidentally snagged onto anything, as well as keeping an eye on Albert's movements in case he needs assistance, Ted slowly led them through the rubble.]

[Albert pushed his satchel behind him as he followed after Ted, steadying himself as he ran into more cracked concrete. The roof ahead was still in one piece, and he pressed against the wall once they had made their way over to it.

Meanwhile, the lights had reached ground level. The cultists were now searching on foot.]

[He frowned, keeping silent as he watches the movements of lights, making sure not to be seen whenever they moved it towards their direction.

His hand went back to his arrow though, still not pulling it, but ready just in case.]

[The lights are lingering at that same distance several yards away, as if the cultists are trying to decide where to do. They eventually split up, two of the lights growing larger as the cultists move closer.

Albert sinks back against the wall, trying to look around in the dark. They could duck down a nearby alleyway, but there was no telling how long they would be in the dark there and what was on the other side. For now, he just keeps low and watches the lights.]

[Ted frowns, annoyed at the fact that they came this way, since he had hoped to avoid battle. He didn't want to move too much in case they notice him shift in movement, but he was wary since he wasn't sure just how they fought. Hopefully they don't have some strange ability that makes them appear all over the place in one go.

The lights getting bigger was not making him feel better.]

[Albert keeps an eye on Ted, trying to judge what the boy was going to do in this situation. He carefully reaches into his satchel for a scroll, glancing out at the approaching lights warily.]

[identity profile] 300yrswandering.livejournal.com 2010-03-24 01:57 am (UTC)(link)
[When the light turned to another direction for a brief moment, Ted took advantage of that to pull an arrow out, positioning himself a little better so that he can aim properly in the dark, though his weapon wasn't actually focused on them just yet. With the lights, at least, he can see a better outline of the enemy.

At least he is grateful for small wonders. His eyes were finally adjusting to the dark.]

[The light definitely helps in that regard. Unfortunately, the light also catches the glint of a blade. The hiss of a blade leaving its sheath is definitely audible. Another blade leaves its sheath, even quicker than the first.]

[... Oh boy. Ted finally readies his weapon, aiming at the man who seemed more likely to spot them at the moment. He wonders if it's a good idea to shove Albert inside so they don't spot him. After all, he did plan on protecting Albert if they're together, and it's better they spot only Ted rather than both of them.

He doesn't even have time to ponder this as the light flashes upon them and stops, finally realizing where they were hiding.

His arrow flies without a second thought.]

[Albert squints into the light as they are suddenly pinpointed by the two cultists. Temporarily unable to see, he misses Ted shooting his arrow--but the startled shout of pain was quite audible. The light on them falters, and Albert pulls open the scroll he had grabbed. A faint green light outlined the scroll before a formidable wave of bluish lightning shot across the ground.]

[identity profile] 300yrswandering.livejournal.com 2010-03-25 10:00 am (UTC)(link)
[Those shots pretty much gave their position away completely, and the screams alert the others towards. Already, Ted could see the small lights slowly get bigger as they come closer. He pulls out another arrow, watching the approaching lights warily. Looks like it's a fight then.]

[Damn. And here he had thought they would be able to avoid this. Albert is at least relieved to see one of the lights clatter to the ground as the arrowed-and-shocked soldier falls over, though it's hard to tell if he's dead or not. For now, the other two quickly approaching lights are the more obvious threats.

He hurriedly looks for a fire scroll in his bag.]

[identity profile] 300yrswandering.livejournal.com 2010-04-04 09:38 am (UTC)(link)
[Well, no use pretending they haven't been spotted. It's a good thing they are using lights, at least, so it was easier to tell where they were.]

You better go hide. [They didn't go deep enough, and he knows if both of them go, they can still follow. At least one of them can try to distract these people.] I'll hold them off.

[He's not trying to be a hero, not really, but unless Albert had an idea up his sleeve on how to fight back if they get close enough, Ted doesn't want to risk him getting attacked. Firing an arrow at those guys then.]

[personal profile] chikaidestroyer 2010-04-04 09:56 am (UTC)(link)
[He understands Ted's suggestion; preparing another spell at this point would put them right in the danger zone, with the soldiers closing in. At this point, there are risks to both retreating and holding their ground. If he leaves Ted now, there is no telling whether he will safely get away; if they both stay, they would quickly lose the advantage of distance, and then he would be stuck in a melee situation he was hardly prepared for.

Albert takes a few steps away from Ted, listening as there's a grunt from one soldier after being hit by that second arrow. Once there is a little distance, he brings his two fingers to his lips and whistles sharply for that damn owl.]

[identity profile] 300yrswandering.livejournal.com 2010-04-04 10:10 am (UTC)(link)
[The whistle surprises Ted for a moment, but he quickly ignores it in favor of trying to get these guys to stop heading towards them. That last one he shot was getting up again (Did he miss a vital part? The light wasn't enough.), and his companion was certainly not wasting time trying to get to them. He'll just keep shooting at them for now, focusing more on slowly them down and, if he had to, stopping them permanently.]

[personal profile] chikaidestroyer 2010-04-04 10:47 am (UTC)(link)
[The seconds tick by all too slowly, and Albert reaches into his bag again to look for that fire scroll. It was taking too long, and they were losing ground quickly. Even if Ted was an excellent shot, the darkness hampered accuracy and the ability to strike vitals.

Fortunately, there was a sudden rustle and rush of wind, and Albert could see one soldier's light smack into the ground abruptly. The giant owl had quite literally landed on one of the cultists.]

[identity profile] 300yrswandering.livejournal.com 2010-04-04 11:41 am (UTC)(link)
[...... wtf owl.

Well, that was rather distracting, though helpful. In fact, actually, it was good timing because those guys are starting to be more trouble than anything else.]

[personal profile] chikaidestroyer 2010-04-06 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
[The other soldier is stumbling around in surprise, clearly having expected the attack as much as Ted had been.]

Focus, Ted.

[The owl seemed to be too interested in preening itself on top of the cultist to attack the other one.]
