Flower Viewing

Who: ...Lol man anyone ever. Everyone?
What: A very "special" Hanami as noted here
When: Most of Saturday afternoon going into Saturday evening
Where: Ammy's Hill
Summary: The haphazardly planned long-waited Hanami actually happens.
Rating: Bro

Today is the day of the Hanami - the flower viewing - as planned by the SOS-Brigade, and it couldn't be a better day! There might be a cold snap today, but sometime during the early afternoon (because Haruki willed it to be so and I got mod permission) the sun gets out more and the temperature shoots up into a nice spring day. This nice spring day will persist until the sun sets, at which point it will go back to being the cold day it was meant to be today.

So while the weather is nice, you might as well enjoy yourselves! As promised, the set up here is fantastic. On the top of the hill is one giant Sakura tree and four smaller ones along the side leading to the road serving as something akin to a natural (double) torii (you know those old Shinto gate things) leading up to the main tree. All five trees are in bloom, but while the four smaller ones have the pink flowers everyone is familiar with, the top one (the big one on the center of the hill) has darker pink, almost red ones for some reason.

One reason why it might be red is that (buried in the ground) at the base of the biggest tree is a (fake Made in China) human skeleton. It's buried pretty well and thus might not come out at all, but it's there. It is.

Anyway, aside from the flowers, there are other things too! There are three big mats with a large collection of chips, sake, and water in various bowls with cups and such for people. And then towards the center (manned by Haruki and one or three other Brigade members [feel free to assume you character is one of them if you want; it'll probably be in shifts]) is a big collection of burners, pots, pans, and everything you would need to produce dumplings on the spot. And they are making dumplings (usually pork of course) for people there.

As for decorations aside from the flowers themselves... there are various painted things and paintings which some people might recognize as Miyabi's work. There are also more than likely paper lanterns up which'll help once the shadows grow deeper in the early evening. I'm being vague in case Miyabi's player wants to post something specific.

Oh and off on the opposite side of the hill from the four flank-trees (for the kids) is a series of three somewhat normal sized trampolines (for the kids) to make up for the lack of Haruki's promised jump land or giant trampoline.

So that's the setting: ENJOY.

[Naturally, this is action script/commentspam/whatever you kids are calling it these days and naturally like any big meeting post thing is set for full threadjack mode]

[Looking around, there were actually an awful lot of nice robes on an awful lot of people.]

Err--I get the feeling that I'm missing something, here. [He looks back down at his own pretty bland, routine tunic and trousers.] Is a robe required for this--[eyeing the food tables now]--feast?

Why do you want to view flowers? [He sounds baffled.]

Yeah, but--couldn't you just come see them any day?

It sounds like a good idea. [He smiles approvingly, though still a bit miffed about the name.] It seems a lot more friendly than a court feast.

[Merlin offers him a look--this time, the angry young man brought Uther up on his own. Exerting the patience gifted to him by two years of being in Arthur's service, the young warlock shakes his head.] It's a brilliant get-together.

Lots of preparation goes into something like this, but I see they have lots of help.

[He nods towards the manned dumpling tables. They're delicious, by the way.]

S-OH-S brigade? [He tries sounding it out. And you say that he's the one making stuff up.]

So--[he glances away from the food, back to Haruki]--it's a guild?

[identity profile] awaitingalbion.livejournal.com 2010-04-02 04:05 am (UTC)(link)
[Of course you're the chief, Haruki. You've got lord-of-the-house vibes all over you.]

Well--[he won't jibe]--your people do good work.

[identity profile] awaitingalbion.livejournal.com 2010-04-02 07:51 pm (UTC)(link)
And they're happy with you as their chief?

[identity profile] awaitingalbion.livejournal.com 2010-04-03 11:04 pm (UTC)(link)
The probably do. [He suppresses a grin.] You seem like a great leader.

[Is this guy really as blind to the nuances of lower class sarcasm as Arthur is?]

So--does your guild do things other than throw good feasts?
