Flower Viewing

Who: ...Lol man anyone ever. Everyone?
What: A very "special" Hanami as noted here
When: Most of Saturday afternoon going into Saturday evening
Where: Ammy's Hill
Summary: The haphazardly planned long-waited Hanami actually happens.
Rating: Bro

Today is the day of the Hanami - the flower viewing - as planned by the SOS-Brigade, and it couldn't be a better day! There might be a cold snap today, but sometime during the early afternoon (because Haruki willed it to be so and I got mod permission) the sun gets out more and the temperature shoots up into a nice spring day. This nice spring day will persist until the sun sets, at which point it will go back to being the cold day it was meant to be today.

So while the weather is nice, you might as well enjoy yourselves! As promised, the set up here is fantastic. On the top of the hill is one giant Sakura tree and four smaller ones along the side leading to the road serving as something akin to a natural (double) torii (you know those old Shinto gate things) leading up to the main tree. All five trees are in bloom, but while the four smaller ones have the pink flowers everyone is familiar with, the top one (the big one on the center of the hill) has darker pink, almost red ones for some reason.

One reason why it might be red is that (buried in the ground) at the base of the biggest tree is a (fake Made in China) human skeleton. It's buried pretty well and thus might not come out at all, but it's there. It is.

Anyway, aside from the flowers, there are other things too! There are three big mats with a large collection of chips, sake, and water in various bowls with cups and such for people. And then towards the center (manned by Haruki and one or three other Brigade members [feel free to assume you character is one of them if you want; it'll probably be in shifts]) is a big collection of burners, pots, pans, and everything you would need to produce dumplings on the spot. And they are making dumplings (usually pork of course) for people there.

As for decorations aside from the flowers themselves... there are various painted things and paintings which some people might recognize as Miyabi's work. There are also more than likely paper lanterns up which'll help once the shadows grow deeper in the early evening. I'm being vague in case Miyabi's player wants to post something specific.

Oh and off on the opposite side of the hill from the four flank-trees (for the kids) is a series of three somewhat normal sized trampolines (for the kids) to make up for the lack of Haruki's promised jump land or giant trampoline.

So that's the setting: ENJOY.

[Naturally, this is action script/commentspam/whatever you kids are calling it these days and naturally like any big meeting post thing is set for full threadjack mode]

Ouch, Winry. Just ouch.

[And with that plate of food polished off...] So, did you ever get that fishing pole?

[identity profile] crytearsofjoy.livejournal.com 2010-03-29 03:32 pm (UTC)(link)

I did! It came with a line, but I don't have any hooks or stuff.
markofthewise: (Chin scratcher)

[NO IT WAS POISONED YOU FOOL.]

Oh well don't worry, I have plenty of that stuff. The question is... do you think you're ready?
markofthewise: (That is so incredibly lame)

[personal profile] markofthewise 2010-03-29 03:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Katara has this funny idea that you might have a problem catching talking fish. Crazy, right?
markofthewise: (Really?)

[personal profile] markofthewise 2010-03-29 03:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, Winry. All animals talk. Presumably even the mosquitoes before we smack them. They're just very, very quiet and we can't hear it.

If I can't understand it, it doesn't count.
markofthewise: (Me likey)

[personal profile] markofthewise 2010-03-29 03:57 pm (UTC)(link)
And besides, I don't think the fish could talk outside of the water anyway!

[identity profile] crytearsofjoy.livejournal.com 2010-03-29 04:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, it's not like we'll be eating them right?
markofthewise: (Those are enemy birds)

[personal profile] markofthewise 2010-03-29 04:04 pm (UTC)(link)
... why wouldn't we?

[identity profile] crytearsofjoy.livejournal.com 2010-03-29 04:06 pm (UTC)(link)
We've got free food from the store. Why kill more than what's already done?
markofthewise: (Yeah. No.)

[personal profile] markofthewise 2010-03-29 04:08 pm (UTC)(link)
[Sokka points at her dumplings.] Do you know what meat that is?
markofthewise: (Why do you feel the need to do that?)

[personal profile] markofthewise 2010-03-29 04:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes. It could be. But it could be something else. We could be eating people!

[identity profile] wings-thatwait.livejournal.com 2010-03-29 04:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I doubt Haruki would allow 'people' to be served at one of his events.
markofthewise: (Not interested)

[personal profile] markofthewise 2010-03-29 04:52 pm (UTC)(link)
How would he know? The food just arrives automatically in the grocery store.
markofthewise: (Wolf tailed)

[personal profile] markofthewise 2010-03-29 04:58 pm (UTC)(link)
I would know by catching the fish myself and then eating them. So I know exactly what I'm eating!

[identity profile] crytearsofjoy.livejournal.com 2010-03-29 05:01 pm (UTC)(link)
You don't know if those fish have people souls, though.
markofthewise: (It's meat!)

[personal profile] markofthewise 2010-03-29 05:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh fine. We'll throw the small ones back. But if I get a really big one, I'm keeping it!

[identity profile] crytearsofjoy.livejournal.com 2010-03-29 05:06 pm (UTC)(link)
But those are probably the chimeras! You never know.
markofthewise: (Yeah whatever)

[personal profile] markofthewise 2010-03-29 05:09 pm (UTC)(link)
... whatever you say.
