Birthday Parties!

What: Birthday parties!
When: July 4th (a smidge backdated)
Where: The riverside, south of the village
Summary: After several birthdays had passed, a birthday PARTY is arranged for those who missed theirs. At the river!
Rating: PG?

[With the help of Toph and Roku (and possibly others), the party had been set up south of the village. There were cakes, party tables, and seats out for everyone. It wasn't really a traditional Water Tribe party by any means, because it was meant for more than one person, after all. But it was by the river and swimming opportunities there. Sokka even set up a net and poles for volleyball. Nami and Roku knew to be there, but of course, Sokka has to get here there still...]

[At some point during the party, a wet Sokka busy drying his face off with a towel and not paying attention, will bump into Sanji. And not realize who it is.]

[Dude, she's bending. It's following you.

The main jet of water may no longer be your top concern, however, as Katara does another move - and just encourages a part of it to splash UP. Since, yeah, not about killing you, Luffy. Just getting a little revenge.]

[She sobers a bit at the Third Party, remembering the recording of Jacob's 'sacrifice.']

Whatever god or spirit the Third Party worships... I want no part of it. But they might just be using the temple because it was already there, not because it means anything to them.

Back home, the Air Nomads lived in temples. After they were killed, the temples were abandoned for a hundred years. But when we were traveling with Aang, we visited each of them - and we found that in one of them some Earth Kingdom villagers had taken it over, because they thought they'd be safe from the Fire Nation there.

And as for the rest - part of her wants to blush, and part of her wants to challenge him on it - but instead, she just lets it go. And hopes he's telling the truth, not for her sake, but for his.

So she just offers him a wry, genuine smile.] Sure, Jet. That would be nice. [Pause - and a searching look.] ...thanks.

[And no, she's not talking about the food. She shifts a little to the side, clearing his way to the table.] I'll just grab us something to drink - meet you over there? [And she points towards a spot by the river.]

[Dude, you are so lucky that the river is deep enough that you don't die. She watches, amused, until the splash from his canonball head straight towards her. She reacts quickly enough to pause the water in mid-air and gives him a grin full of mischief when he resurfaces.]

No problem, Sanji.

[Since a waterbendingball would end up soaking the whole picnic site, she just - drops her hands. All that water which was suspended above his head drops back down like someone tipped a bucket. She laughs and starts to wade in.]

[Whereas Katara is just COMPLETELY clueless. She spots Riku, smiles, waves and hurries over.]

Hey, Riku! I'm glad to see you!

[What is this booze of which you speak? Anyway, Katara will spot you from her spot in the river a few feet off, and just give a smile and a cheerful wave.]

[That's right, he's not. But instead, since he's being so cooperative, he'll get a smile.]

It's good cake! The food's over here.

[She'll just start walking, leading him over.]

[She shoots him a searching look.] I guess that feels like a good thing and a bad thing, huh? I don't know how I'd be doing, if Sokka wasn't here... but at the same time... [this place is the worst town ever.]

[She's sitting down on the grass with her back to the river. Two glasses of lemonade rest on the ground beside her.]

Hey. What'd you get? [And she shifts her gaze to briefly scan past him.] Still no sign of Longshot, huh?

[Diana turns at the sound of his voice. After a second (she sees his booze thar), she approaches him.]

Zoro! It's good to see you.

[Sokka winces when he realizes who it is. He doesn't turn around though. Just... ouch. So it's all going to come out... well. No big deal.]

I don't need any excuses. I don't lie to her. [He just keeps on walking. This party couldn't be over any sooner.]
