Where: The riverside, south of the village
Summary: After several birthdays had passed, a birthday PARTY is arranged for those who missed theirs. At the river!

[With the help of Toph and Roku (and possibly others), the party had been set up south of the village. There were cakes, party tables, and seats out for everyone. It wasn't really a traditional Water Tribe party by any means, because it was meant for more than one person, after all. But it was by the river and swimming opportunities there. Sokka even set up a net and poles for volleyball. Nami and Roku knew to be there, but of course, Sokka has to get here there still...]

[It is your typical hot Sunday and Katara is doing what any sensible person should be -- drinking lemonade on the porch.

Mmm, tangy-sweet goodness.]

[Sokka has been conspicuously absent all morning. He finally shows up later in the day, looking fairly worn out from running around getting things set up. He's trying not to look it as he comes up on the house.]

Heeeeeeeeeeey, Katara.

[~~She eyes him suspiciously. Get your own lemonade, dude!~~

She smiles.]

Hey, Sokka. What's up?

[Sokka gives something of a shrug.]

Not much, not much. I need your help, though.

[~~She said: GET YOUR OWN LEMONADE.~~

She takes a sip of her drink and raises her eyebrows at him.]

With what?

[~~DAMMIT WOMAN.~~

He just stands in the sun and melts.]

Well you know how it's Nami's birthday and everything, so... [He gives her time to correct him by saying she didn't know that at all.]

[Oh, you are so mean.

She does a double-take.]

Wait, what? What do you mean it's Nami's birthday?

[He feigns surprise.]

You didn't know? [He scratches his chin.] That's weird... well anyway! The party is down by the river. I need you to help me set up. I promised [Not Sanji, Not Sanji, Not Sanji] Brook I'd set up tables and stuff.

How am I supposed to know if no one told me! I can't believe you didn't let me know!

[Sigh. ~~Goodbye, lemonade.~~ She stands up.]

Just let me run into town to see if I can get her something quick, and I'll meet you there.

[.... dammit. Urge to slap forehead rising... Why couldn't he think of a better excuse. It wasn't too late to change tactics, was it?]

I assumed you knew! You can grab something later. Roku and Toph are waiting for us. There's this... bending thing you guys gotta do.

[Yeah, she's actually upset.] I can't believe no one told me! If I'd known, I would have made her something..

Do I really need to go right now?

Actually, I'm pretty sure I told Roku to tell you. So it's probably his fault. [SCAPEGOAT!]

... and yes.

[Roku! How could he have forgotten?]

Ugh!

All right, let's go.

[She'll just... explain. And get Nami something later. Man. Birthdays were about making someone feel appreciated and Nami had been through so much... maybe there was something she could do, even last minute.

She falls into step besides Sokka, trying to come up with something.]

[Sokka on the other hand looks far too pleased about something as he struts alongside her. Even though he's made Katara feel horrible. But that was not his intention, so that's okay. Probably. ]

[Sanji is definitely lurking around, seeing as this party includes both a crew mate and a dear friend. Once he sets up his own cake (for Nami, though technically it could be for any of the three) he mingles around, keeping a close eye out for Katara but making sure to avoid Sokka. If he can get away without making eye-contact with the boy once, it'll be a miracle.]

[After rounding up Katara, Sokka is just hanging out at the party. He'll go talk to people usually, engage in rounds of volleyball, maybe even swim for awhile. He always manages to be on the opposite end of the festivities as Sanji. Coincidence!?]

[Here's another party-lurker. In fact, he's literally only here to ~~manage his S. Links~~ talk to Katara and ignore any of the actual festivities of the event. This really isn't his thing, but it's probably a good idea to at least say hi, right? He's not particularly busy at the moment anyway, so it should be okay to do that much.

...but that doesn't mean other people can't bother him anyway, before he makes his escape.]

[Oh yeah, this party's for her, too :|a Although she's less inclined to celebrate it this year, but combined ones are fun. Brought you a gift, Katara. |D So she'll look for you at some point.

Otherwise, Nami is cheerfully mingling with anyone she knows and some she doesn't know, because distraction is always fun and it's been a while since she's had the chance to just be sociable. And filching some of Sanji-kun's cake. And ...watching some of the interesting social dynamics going on.

Apart from that? Swimming is definitely in the cards.]

8D? Right?

Well, in either case, Sanji will eventually find his way to Nami and begin his usual mating call]

[Can you hear the sparkles, Nami? Can you?]

[Katara still finds it a little bit hard to believe that it's actually her birthday. Her birthday is supposed to be surrounded by snow and ice and in the dead of winter, where the sun just shines for a few hours and the moon reigns on high.

But Sokka's reasons made sense, and all these people turned out to celebrate with her and Nami... so she is trying her best to go along with it. Fifteen? Really? They'd been there that long?]

Hi, Sanji!

[Sometime mid-way into the party, Katara spots Caesar and runs over with a smile.]

Hey, Caesar!

[Nami is one of the very first people Katara seeks out once the 'surprise' is over.]

Hey, Nami. [A wry smile.] Happy birthday!

[Yeeeeeeeeeeey it's a Katara!

Sanji bounds over to her, looking particularly giddy now that he's found her]

Katara-chwaaan~! Happy birthday~! ♥
