Summary: It was requested that a general reactionary log be tossed up when the quake happens so people can react in their own way without having a zillion posts. Individual posts are obviously still fine, but this might help people out.

[The dams are at least three feet thick. Katara's trying to use up the water as much as she is trying to block it from overfilling, and half the time she's pulling the water up out of the ground itself and layering it with ice.

Sadly, it's August. She barely glances up at him as she keeps working.]

I don't know. Until tomorrow, maybe? I need to get further up the river and deal with it at its source, but I can't just leave things like this.

We can do it at the mountain base. I have enough explosives, we should be able to create a landslide that will do the work for us.

We can't just block it up without giving it someplace to go - not without rerouting the entire river.

... I don't think the barrier is going to hold. Maybe Sirry Crags was just a diversion by the TPs... [But that's a line of thought that can wait.] Well we need something more permanent than an ice dam... and Toph can't help us right now.

[Then should we be focusing on trying to find our way out? Or do we stay here and do what we can to help the people who could be trapped? But they'll come back - and wouldn't we all be helped the most by going home?]
